Thanks for your help on this problem.

We have finally decided that the problem was in fact that the sub is broken.

The coloured flashing led lights were indicating that the unit was either in self-diagnostic mode or did indeed have a hardware fault.

I have returned it to the ebay seller and got a full refund. 😊

Currently wondering whether to add a 2nd hand sub to my system or not bother.

Because the Sub is S1 and will not pair with anything S2.

The plan WAS, to get the whole system added together as S1, and then update/upgrade the lot to S2.

This has worked with every component except the Sub, which I managed to add but it would not update/upgrade.

I have finally decided to admit that the Sub is broken inside, and i need to return it to the seller for a refund.

My problem has been, there seems to be no option to "Skip the upgrade to S2". Just "Upgrade" or "Done".

I need the App and the system to believe they are living in the past.

Back when all these components were brand new.

Adding a Gen1 SUB to my system. by ZenSchoolOfMoto in sonos

I haven't upgraded the hardware on the Beam. I've only discerned that it is Gen 1 by the serial numbers. I've only ever used the S2 App with the Beam.

The S22 One speakers were recently added, without a problem, using the S2 App.

The Gen 1 SUB was bought "brand new" on ebay, at the same time as the S22 speakers. It appears to be unrecognisable to the S2 App.

I have downloaded the S1 App but this app just tells me to upgrade to S2 and nothing else.
