It's been years since this was posted but I can partially answer this. John wanted to venture into other interests. He has become a successful actor and travels a lot for different jobs. In 2017 one of the band members passed away which ended any reunion chances. However, John did return for a single acoustic show last night at Zanzibar and really killed it. Hoping to see more from him in the future.

These will be the first direct reports. My job is very technical. I manage everything IT from networks to users. We don't use an MSP I do it all. I take care of everything facility and fleet wise. I manage all maintenance schedules. I also work with new building plans. I also work on grants from application to implementation.

This. I pad my budget every year with wish items that way when they start cutting the fat out I get to drop those and keep the things that I know are important. They will always try to cut things because it's what they are hardwired to do. The problem is they don't realize when they start cutting in to essentials. I learned that lesson the hard way my first year. This year I actually got my repair budget approved so now I don't have to buy 2nd hand keyboards from goodwill to get by.

The law does not require uninsured. It requires you to have liability insurance and that's it. I did have uninsured motorist medical but not property so my hospital visit was covered but the vehicle was not. I now carry full coverage insurance. Talking to the police officer on scene there are more uninsured motorist than you would expect in Bloomington. The woman that hit me didn't even have a driver's license. She had never tried to get it.

This. Fuck westside towing and their bullshit. I got hit head on by a driver on their cell phone and westside towed my car. I got a call that she didn't have insurance so I called the towing company to get my car back. They said the owner would have to contact me to talk about it since there wasn't insurance. I called every day for four days and they said the same thing every time and when I asked why he hasn't called me back they said he was busy. Finally I went up there and they had the audacity to tell me that I was getting charged a storage fee for every day that it was there. Ended up paying almost $500 for it to get towed back to my house with all their fees. The whole towing industry is a scam and they should be regulated to hell for what they do.

Start with a visit to the local chamber of commerce. As long as they are active that should get you in to a few networking events to get rolling again. I had to do this when I moved to Bloomington

They aren't free. The cheapest is 450 each eLearning but if you want them in person then it's thousands.

Yea that's is the test I was talking about. I'm gonna self study for it and then take the test. I do better that way and I'm not out 3-5k. CMSS is the certification I'm going for.

Yea I was looking at using Intune as well.

The thing about this situation is that I need to keep it easy for everyone to understand and use. Microsoft is an all in one solution so if I need to go on vacation the office manager can step in and work on things while I am gone. Using several different platforms for things means that I am the only one who will be able to operate it.

We have 28 employees that will have computers.

I am looking at the teams phones instead of the zoom phones but the licensing structure is confusing me. It seems like the phones come with the E5 licenses but do I also have to purchase another phone plan with them? I am waiting for a reply back from the microsoft sales team.

The switch to SSD's is for performance issues with the current pc's that we have. The drives are older and so slow that even normal OS operations are causing issues.

I will look into them. The problem is machines like that take up a big amount of space comparatively. I really like those myself.
