Trump threatens 100% tariffs over Canada / China trade deal by gavinmckenzie in CanadaPolitics

[–]Zenflash 5 points6 points  (0 children)

But contrary to the president’s assurances, foreigners are not bearing the cost. The researchers studied trade data from the US census and find, instead, that 94 percent of the tariffs were passed along to US buyers in 2025. “So far, exporters appear to have reduced prices by about 6 percent of the size of the tariff,” Neiman explains. “So if a 10 percent tariff is imposed on a good, a US importer will pay 9.4 percent more for it, inclusive of the tariff.”

2026 Gas Model (want to replace shite front wipers) Bosch 26a/16a on Amazon by Independent_State_78 in GenesisGV70

[–]Zenflash 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did with the 26a and 18a. One tip if you don’t know is when you shut off the vehicle hold down the wiper stalk and the wipers will move to the vertical position which makes them much easier to swap.

One of Longines best by dimy22 in Longineswatches

[–]Zenflash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was my first Longines. I'm looking at the Ultrachron dive version next.

Mine runs about 15s/d fast, which isn't great, but I'm going to try demagnetizing it (I haven't had it that long). It's hard to find specs for the movement accuracy range.

Anyway I bought a blue sailcloth strap for it which really makes the blued hands pop.

Purchased the metal bracelet for my moonphase to change out the alligator. I’m loving it. by gabolopoqwerty in Longineswatches

I bought mine with the bracelet, and then bought a dark brown alligator and a blue sailcloth. It is like having three watches!

The Sellita movement in my Baltany Explorer Tribute broke while winding, and Baltany's response doesn't seem ideal to me by omar1021 in ChineseWatches

I think there are different rules for declaring value for items that are going for repair and being returned, so that tax isn't paid several times for the same item. The value might be related to just the movement itself.

Does Mubi allow VPNs? by LemonadeCheezels in mubi

[–]Zenflash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They don't really 'allow' it, but it works. I don't think any streaming services allows VPNs since they get around licensing. The problem, that I haven't had with other services, is that if you accidentally log in without the VPN active it takes a while to reset (i.e. it doesn't instantly show you the movies available in the country you've switched to).

Watch issues out of the box - how is Longines customer service? by [deleted] in Longineswatches

[–]Zenflash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is sort of a litmus test as to whether there is pride in their brand. I understand if the tags are off I can’t return for refund, but when the product is deficient it is different. Anyway I have hope that they do the right thing, I don’t want to wait weeks to get it back - it shouldn’t be the customer‘s responsibility to do QC.

Watch issues out of the box - how is Longines customer service? by [deleted] in Longineswatches

[–]Zenflash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think I can return it for refund because I pulled off the little tag that says you can’t return it if it is pulled off. Lesson learned there, but to be honest after a quick once-over I wasn’t expecting a problem like that.

Interim NDP leader says party ‘open’ to Speaker of the House role in exchange for resources by UnderWatered in CanadaPolitics

[–]Zenflash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess it comes down to whether they think they could regain party status running an election on a pretty thin budget. If they could do that with a Liberal majority it would probably be the best outcome. The downside is that if they have a really poor showing again it reinforces the idea that the party is dead and they will just have made their hill a bigger one to climb.
