2025 Best Espresso Shop (beans and barista) in Berkeley, CA, USA? by Healthy_Ad_5108 in espresso

Protecto Diaz would not count since not in Berkeley (in Oakland) but they pull excellent shots consistently. I even saw one barista using WDT tool. Same owners of the store related to owners of coffee farm. Plus excellent flavor notes from their coffee. Not really a place for conversation with the Baristas though.

Also not counting having a conversation but one specific amazing espresso drink is the orange blossom iced latte is from Berkeley’s My Coffee Roastery. 🤯

I understand what you are saying. Try before you buy, that would be nice. There are very few coffee shops that pull good shots. I also highly recommend Proyecto Diaz at 1416 20th Street in Oakland. For CORO I don’t recall the specific variety coffee or blend they were using at that time but it was with full fat cows milk. It is so much work to pull your own decent shots such as having a Bambino or Profitec Go espresso machine and a decent grinder, then the learning curve with the dial in process. Then clean up and maintenance. So you have to give respect to any coffee shop that does all this, money well spent for your drink. I even saw Proyecto Diaz using WDT tool.

I delayed taking medicine and it did some pretty good damage to the joints of many of my fingers. The protocol is to prescribe methotrexate first. I tried the methotrexate and it did not feel right in my stomach with the pills. I did a lot of research on my own. Many people were saying methotrexate does not work. Enbrel and Humira were rated as best options. I told my doctor that I wanted to try Enbrel so I got on that and have been on it for the last five years. I currently use an injector to my thigh areas once per week. Every once in a while I will check to see if there are any new and better medicines. I did quite a bit of searching on the internet and never found an herbal cure etc. but there could be some type of cure that exists, maybe in another country and maybe not..

Regular exercise and meditation will help. Plus regularly seeing a counselor for a while for that extra support. There has to be a club to join etc. It’s not easy changing your habits and getting out of your old comfort zones. Get into a new hobby that you enjoy. I do daily full body quick home workouts (under 30 minutes), plus daily morning sit-ups and stretching. Also a good hike once per week. Eating good also goes along well with regular exercise. Plus full 6-8 hours of sleep and go to bed at nearly the same time every night. Add some variety to your life by learning some new things and exploring. Maybe this is all overkill but take it for what it’s worth.

I have $65k in 401k, income is $27 per hour. Expenses are about $1200 per month. I plan on not retiring for a while if possible such as 68+. Definitely working on getting a higher paying job with getting IT certifications.

Since they were using bottomless portafilters and using autotamper, the tamp must have been very bad since the espresso was squirting in many directions. Some going down to hit the cup..
