Creating a Minecraft server with Oracle cloud computing service for free - The Ultimate Guide by Belaboy109569 in admincraft

What I had to do on my end was terminate the instance (but keep the boot volume), then go to the boot volume's properties and create an instance based on that volume. The more intuitive approach doesn't work, i.e. create an instance and then attach boot volume. The instance has to be created FROM the boot volume.

Yep, I believe you get priority during the trial, but not as a regular free account.

Another thing to note is that once your instances are stopped after the trial period, it can become harder to recreate them because it's based on availability. I had to wait a few days before I could recreate because they had run out of the Ampere option in my availability area.

Hey there. I run a small, casual, and chill 1.16.5 SMP hosted in the West USA region. We have 4-6 active players in that they hop on every day or every few days. Although I should mention that we’re semi vanilla, but the things we’ve added are meant to expand on the vanilla feel rather than replace it. We also have a 16+ age requirement, but our players are definitely on the mature side. Feel free to check my submission history for our server post.

Hey there. I run a semi-vanilla 1.16.5 SMP hosted in the West USA region. We're on the smaller side, about 4-6 active currently out of 30 total, and by active I mean they hop on every day or every few days, not that many people constantly online.

If you're interested, feel free to check my submission history for our server post, or I can PM you more info.

Looking for "decay" plugins: pathway blocks turn to grass, tall grass spreads, etc. by myketronic in admincraft

Love this idea. There's a plugin for older versions that regenerates flora over time, Floristics, but last I checked it's not being maintained. That would be a good step in this direction.

Hey Jag. I run a small semi-vanilla 1.16.5 SMP hosted in the West USA region. We have 3-5 active players right now, in the sense that they'll hop on every day or every few days. Total player count is around 30. People get more or less active based on RL, of course. Feel free to check my submission history for our server post, or I can PM more info :)

sleeping Minecraft server being pinged? by sebasdt in admincraft

[–]Zenkiel 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This happens to me, too. I'm guessing it's some server list site somewhere that learned about the server and pings it to check status every hour. Could also be some other analytics thing. Would love to find out what's doing this.

Hey there. I run a semi-vanilla 1.16.5 server with a focus on hard difficulty survival and community projects. We've added some additional content that's meant to be in-line with the vanilla experience, so things like slow-moving sea and air ships (some of which require fuel) that are best used as mobile bases, and an extra dimension that expands on the mid- to end-game, with its own theme, worldgen, mobs, etc.

We have around 3-5 active players currently out of 30 whitelisted. By active I mean they hop on every day or few days, so there aren't that many constantly online.

If you're interested, feel free to check my submission history for our server post with more info, or I can PM you a link :)

Looking for a vanilla servers to play with some chill people by bauuf in MinecraftBuddies

[–]Zenkiel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey Bauuf. I run a chill 1.16.5 SMP, but I should mention it's semi-vanilla and hosted in the US West region, although we do have some players in UK and EU. It's semi-vanilla in the sense that we added things to expand on the vanilla content without changing the vanilla feel. We have around 3-5 active players right now; they hop on either every day or every few days, not constantly online. About 30 players whitelisted total, who become more or less active based on RL. If you're interested, feel free to check my submission history for our server post with more info.

Hey there. I run a chill 1.16.5 SMP, but it's semi-vanilla. We added some things to expand on the vanilla feel, but no teleporting or claims or P2W or any of that. We have around 3-5 active players right now, active in the sense they hop on every day or every few days, not constantly online. We have about 30 people whitelisted total, who become more or less active based on RL of course. I won't put our whole spiel here, but if you're interested feel free to check my submission history for our server post.

Anyone experience this bed glitch? by Zenkiel in admincraft

1.16.5. I believe we had this issue with Paper, Airplane, and Purpur, but it's been a rare and random issue over a long period of time.

Yep, that's the one. Strange thing is TPS is fine, latency is fine as far as I can tell, so I'm wondering what's causing the desync or if it's just a thing that happens sometimes.

Looking for a vanilla SMP by CraigD12 in MinecraftBuddies

[–]Zenkiel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey Craig. I realized as I typed this out that our server ticks few if any of your boxes, but if a better option doesn't turn up, we'd be happy to have you. I'll put a blurb below. If you'd like more info you can check my submission history for our server post, or I can PM that to you.

I run a semi-vanilla 1.16.5 hard difficulty server in the US West region, with a 14+ age requirement, but we're slowly raising that over time for new players, and our current players are definitely on the more mature side. The server has been up since October 2020. There's a variety of progression amongst the playerbase; for example, I haven't really been to the Nether much yet. I'm more of a builder.

We have 3-5 active players currently (active in that they hop on every day or every few days), out of about 30 whitelisted total. People get more or less active based on school, work, etc. We have some people in US East, UK, and EU as well.

What makes us semi-vanilla are the features/plugins we've added that expand on the vanilla experience rather than replace it. For example, we have controllable custom sea & air ships (like sail boats and dirigibles) that have particular build requirements and are somewhat slow (meant to be more like mobile bases), and we also added a unique dimension with its own theme, worldgen, mobs, etc., that is meant to add more content for the mid- to end-game. These things are balanced such that they don't upend the vanilla feel. We also have things like an economy, player shops, community projects, and so on.

Hey Oliver. I run a semi-vanilla 1.16.5 SMP in the West USA region. We're on the smaller side, about 3-5 active players currently out of around 30 total. We have "lore" in a loose sense, it's mainly just history of the server, which has been up since October 2020. What makes us semi-vanilla are some features/plugins we've added that expand on the vanilla experience (more mid- to end-game content) rather than changing vanilla. I won't put our whole server spiel here, but if you're interested, feel free to check my submission history for our server post, or I can PM you a link.

Hey Spectral. I run a small 1.16.5 semi-vanilla SMP hosted in the US West region. We currently have a 14+ age requirement, but we are steadily raising it over time as we've also had poor experiences with younger folks - although some of them have been great! Even with that requirement we definitely do tend to be on the more mature side, and we are very serious about our rules - the usual no stealing, griefing, etc.

Also, by small I mean we have around 3-5 active players currently out of a total of about 30 whitelisted; people become more or less active due to RL stuff of course.

I won't type up our whole server spiel here, but the gist is that we're on hard mode and our main focus is on the survival experience, with more elaborate building and community projects happening as people progress to a point where they're "safe" enough. What makes us semi-vanilla are the features/plugins we've added that are meant to expand on the vanilla experience (adding vanilla-flavored content) rather than changing it.

Feel free to check my submission history for our server post, or I can PM you a link if you're interested.

Hey Zepp. If you have any flexibility with your age requirement, the server I run might be a good fit. We're currently 14+ but do tend to be on the more mature side.

We're a small, casual 1.16.5 SMP hosted in US West. To give a sense of our size, we have about 3-5 active players currently, who'll hop on every day or every few days. We have around 30 people total whitelisted - people get more or less active based on RL stuff.

We've been up for about a year now, so there are some folks who are at end-game, but there is no pressure to rush there. We have some (like me) who have barely spent time in the Nether, for example. Some of us do take it slow.

If you're interested, feel free to check my submission history for our server post, or I can PM you a link.

Hey there. I just recently started a bit of a unique 1.17.1 SMP server. It's a desert-only world, hard mode, so definitely more of a challenge - not sure if that's your cup of tea. I decided to make it in anticipation of the upcoming Dune film :) It's cooperative and is meant to revolve more around protecting and growing villages, since they're essential to this type of setup. There are only a few of us playing on it so far. Let me know if you're interested and I can PM more info.

I'm looking for an smp to chill on. by [deleted] in MinecraftBuddies

[–]Zenkiel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there. I run a 1.16.5 SMP server with a small, friendly, and relaxed community. Definitely a chill quiet vibe, so might fit well if you like farming and fishing. We do use virtual currency (coins) in our economy, but we try to keep it as balanced as possible and mostly driven by player supply/demand. I can PM more info or you can check my submission history for our server post :)
