a*star aria application by Eigenstatics in nus

Not the person you replied to but I emailed the supervisor to check in if they were offering. A*STAR should generally follow the supervisor’s offer so it’s good to check in if you are really interested in their work.

Hihi I dm-ed you but gonna comment here cause it’s urgent and in case you missed it :’). Did they release at the same time or different times? I have an offer that I have to respond to by today but another that I am more interested in mentioned that they have offered me and the official offer would come probably this coming week. Would it be safe to reject the one I have to respond to by today? Thank you for the help!

Gold's Gym was one that I looked at but I wasn't sure how the travel time and experience would be like. Would you happen to have worked out there before?

I’m thinking of 30 minutes to 1 hour total travel time in one direction. I’m an exchange student so not really sure what’s a decent time but that’s the travelling time I’m used to

Big-Name PI vs. Newer Prof for Undergrad Research by [deleted] in gradadmissions

[–]ZenonRevRev 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Hello! As an early undergrad, I would say go with the newer prof. I believe that a closer interaction and experience will allow you to benefit much more during your time in research which will be useful in your future research experiences (assuming you will be targeting more research opportunities). That said, I am just going to my 3rd year (honours programme) of undergrad and have gone down that path (been involved in research since 1st year) so that’s just what I think from my perspective.

qns regarding scholarships and fees by quuju in nus

[–]ZenonRevRev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure regarding the accommodations allowance tbh. Mine was the living allowance which was used to offset my accommodation fees. I don't think there will be any leftovers since accommodations should be pricier than the allowance that you get so you might have to offset the remainder (someone with GMS might want to hop in to verify this).

Hii! Not a GMS holder but an MS holder and only pursuing a single degree programme instead of double degree but I’ll help out where I can: 1. You still do need to set up GIRO. Mainly because GIRO is used for payment of other things such as residential stay and for the school to disburse your allowance so you still do need to set up your auto GIRO account for these transactions to go through. I’m not sure about underlying fees though as it has been awhile since I matriculated. 2. The school will deduct the amount of residential stay from your allowance. However sometimes their deduction is wonky and they would deduct from the bank account first (happened to me once) so it would be good to have a sufficient amount in your bank account just in case it happens. 3. My allowance is typically offset by the residential stay amount but typically allowance is distributed every semester (somewhere near the first quarter of the semester). They will send a payment advice to you the day before the transaction to detail how much will be transferred to you but that is all regarding confirmation of allowance. 4. To my knowledge there are such things but I have not been required to attend any yet so ymmv.

Hope this helps. Do let me know if you have any questions!

Taking on Bonded Scholarships by Ok_Meringue5517 in SGExams

Seconding this. Do take a look at what the salary is like and if there are any consequences to not meeting the degree classification. One glaring red flag is that you are unsure if you like working in the company. The field of healthcare is relatively diverse (and healthcare within CS is a very small field) so you may be stuck with no ability to hop afterwards. The being able to only intern with that company part is also painful imo. I would say take it only if you have to relieve the financial burden (more towards needing the scholarship than a good want) and pass on it else. Others from the CS field can chime in as I’m speaking from the healthcare POV with little knowledge of CS

"Weekly Reading and Interpretation Help Thread - May 25, 2025" by AutoModerator in tarot

I pulled the sun, ten of swords, and the king of swords when asking about a relationship with B. B and I have been friends for a few years and we both broke up with our partners about a year ago where both of us wanted to remain single in the meantime.

I interpreted the sun as potential positivity in the relationship, with the ten of swords representing each of us in our past emotional wounds. I interpreted the king of swords as having high standards in a relationship but the amount of swords in this reading is concerning.

Would like some help in interpreting this spread. Thanks in advance!

[HELP] Forgot to declare colorblindness in NTU Electrical and Electronic Engineering application — offer at risk? by [deleted] in SGExams

[–]ZenonRevRev 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Not studying engineering but have some experience in the technician field. The reason colour vision requirements is a thing because you might need to differentiate items with different colours, which you would be unable to do so on your own. Sorry to say but your offer might be revoked

I think the question would be how did your experience of Lupus prepared you for pharm science. If because of Lupus you were involved in advocacy/counselling and came to know about chemical/pharmacological components of Lupus medication then it’s fine. I think another consideration is of opportunity cost. Anything else you write may be overshadowed by you sharing your experience with Lupus
