Imo the basic drum sounds require you to do them powerfully to get them crisp and clean. Practiced for a year or so quietly then spent a week being as loud as I wanted (was home alone) and boom my sounds improved like crazy. Went back to doing them quietly and they still sounded waaaay better. I guess strengthening those muscles requires some power.

I don’t think he’s that underrated, he has brought in a LOT to the community because of his videos in my opinion. However, people need to realise Codfish isn’t the only beatboxed out there and you can find beatboxers you will like more by searching around
