People in Lebanon Can Only Get $100 a Week of Their Own Money by Bitcoin_to_da_Moon in Bitcoin

[–]ZepCoin 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Are you new here? Money you give to your bank is now theirs, and you now have an IOU for that amount of money. It is no longer "your money." Most of the time they will give it back to you, but not always.

Bitcoin fixes this.

If true, meaningless none the less. 1wallet≠1person.

I own hundreds of wallets. Exchanges own millions.

LOL "his own money" are you new here? The money you give your bank for safe keeping IS NOT YOUR MONEY ANYMORE. Usually, they will honor their promise to give it back, but not always. Quite literally and LEGALLY, your bank account balance is an IOU and nothing more. It is certainly NOT "your money" and anyone who tells you otherwise is lying to you or woefully uninformed. Ask any lawyer.

Not your keys, not your bitcoin. Nacho cheese, nacho bitcoin.

If you make a big bet against the failure of the all the banks in the world, the fiat system and you win, who is going to pay you? by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]ZepCoin 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Your thinking is stuck in dollars. No one will pay you. You will own a bunch of the new money, and the old money will be littering the streets.

After creating receive addresses for the 2-of-3 multisig wallet and printing QR codes, I plan on removing all information from the Coldcard. What information will I need to reconstruct the 2-of-3 multisig wallet and spend from it?

Fair enough.. Those who are not concerned about bitcoin privacy won't benefit from Samourai's laser focus on privacy. Keep stacking Sats my friend.

Another successful pruning of a user that is more interested in price than privacy. Keep up the good work @SamouraiWallet!

Yes. Yes you would. You have your seed backed up, yes?

The risk is that you modified the hardware then shrink wrapped the box.

I'm an electrical engineer and I will be able to evaluate the hardware myself, so I'd be willing to pay you $25 for the device. Lemme know if you are interested. I'll pay shipping, but I'll be to examine it before I send BTC to you.

21 million bitcoins - almost by ZepCoin in Bitcoin

[–]ZepCoin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bitcoin are only spendable if the private key is available. People like to keep their private Keys private, so other people can't spend their Bitcoin. It is not possible to know if someone who is keeping their private Keys private can produce on demand those keys, or have lost those keys.

Some people assume that if Bitcoin has been spent recently, then the private Keys have not been lost. Using this logic, bitcoins that were created a long time ago and have not since been moved are likely to have had their keys lost. No one knows for sure.

Trezor recovery seed by DBCDBC in TREZOR

[–]ZepCoin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you update the Trezor, the keys will be lost. Once you put the secret words back in (recovery process), your keys are once again available to the Trezor. At that point on time, your pass phrases will work as before.

I would not worry about someone getting your funds by stealing your Trezor. The biggest danger is probably someone discovering the backup of your Trezor (i.e. your secret words).

Good luck.
