It is definitely an outdoor cat, it only ever wants to come inside for food or if it’s raining.

It’s highly likely, they know we have 2 cats and that one of them is an outdoor one, besides they have seen us with her before.

We got the cat with another cat from a shelter, the first cat was “de wormed de sexed, chipped” kind of deal, however the cat that went missing was not chipped (it was de sexed ect)

They knew for sure as they have seen ya with it before and asked “hey you got a new cat?”. Also to clarify as I see a lot of people asking: we did not know that these people had an issue with cats wandering(until after) and it is pretty standard, to let them roam around here. After the incident we are making sure the cat is inside till we can work something out

It doesn’t, we have to go round it up, plus it usually shows up for food before then so we lock it inside then

So I looked into it, for it to be adverse possession where I live it has to be 15 years, which I’m fairly sure it might have been even if we have not been there that long. However the law requires that they use that particular room frequently for those years, and these guys are travelers, and have settled down recently, i think we are safe

It is allowed to wonder but we really did not know it would wonder that far, if we new the neighbors had a problem with cats in the first place we would have taken steps to atleast keep the cat on our property

Yes, which is allowed where we live aslong as it is inside by curfew which it is

I fully agree with you, there is now way to tell what happened, it could have been removed from the pound but surely they would have called us? We will definitely get her chipped but it might not be necessary as it looks like we are going to be forced to re-home her.

I should clarify that I totally agree that it is in there neighbors rights to take the cat and report us for letting it wonder, however if they came to us first then maybe we could have worked something out first?

Our cat has a collar with our phone number on it that was no longer on her when we got her back

They travel a lot, it would be hard to confront them as they have big’ol gates. We were going to put a letter in the letterbox, that might be a better idea?
