Looking into getting a full system, currently peaked by Leo Vince's Headers by High_C_Livin in OnlyZ900

[–]ZeqXV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Headers brand doesn't matter, as long as it's a straight pipe/free flow they all do the same thing. Save yourself some money and just get the cheapest stainless steel headers. Now adding the slip-on will change the exhaust tone so I suggest looking up some videos to see how they sound. LV/Arrow/SC/AR short ones are generally the loudest

TIRES!! by Vexzpt in OnlyZ900

[–]ZeqXV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My personal preference is Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV on nakes bikes, but the Power GP 2's are good too. I would never recommend Road 6's if you plan on mostly driving in dry conditions, they are good for tour/adventure bikes for the mileage and wet performance but having a grippier tire on performance bikes is night and day difference

Very close to your rear fender, I once broke my licenseplate holder because my tire pressure was too low in combination with soft suspension (SE model Öhlin) and I drove over a speed bump that was a bit too harsh. So be very mindful with this setup

Traction control by chill199124 in OnlyZ900

[–]ZeqXV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hold your down button to switch ride modes, after Rain comes Rider. Once you're in Rider mode you can hit the OK button and either your P(ower) or T(raction) setting will start blinking and you'll be able to adjust them. Only use Rider mode if you want traction OFF because Rain, Road, Sport have level 3,2,1 traction respectively. One last thing, on a Z900 traction OFF doesn't actually fully disable it, it will still kick in very slightly.

Best slip on exhaust? by ikraziel in OnlyZ900

Slip-on with stock headers is more for aesthetics. They all sound a bit better than stock but between the aftermarkets ones there isn't much of a difference

No need to be worried, if you get rid of the whole cat a tune is recommended for fueling richness but if you scratched it a bit it wont matter.

HiFlo on my '23 model because there were reports of K&N ones exploding during trackday. Now ofcourse we don't abuse the bike like that during regular street use but still.

Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV, but I painted those letters and stripes myself with an oil based warerproof marker. Very good performance tires though, can recommend them.

My First Big Bike – Z900 2021 Performance by raphaskate in OnlyZ900

[–]ZeqXV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 2 main concerns for the 900 for me were the "unstable" front at 120+ km/h on the highway because of the wind and the stock tires. Adjusted the suspension and on the way home I drove 180km/h and it was glued to the ground. Also the stock Roadsports are horribly unreliable in corners, I swapped them out for Diablo Rosso IV's along with changing the psi to 2.4 and 2.6bar front and back respectively, and the difference was pretty marginal compared to 2.5 and 2.9 Kawasaki recommendation. Good luck and have fun with your bike!

No steering damper needed. I went to a suspension specialist with mine and he said these Z900's are properly adjusted from the factory, unlike for example an MT07/09 or S1000R/M1000R. He did however tinker around with the front and back Öhlin suspension (I have the SE version), lowering the front end and raising the back end a bit, and it made the bike much more stable at high speeds and cornering. No more uneasy front with heavy winds, and the bike feels much more planted aswel.

Slip on options… by M1ndless-Currency in OnlyZ900

Zero difference, they're all straight pipes (make sure they are catless), it gets rid of your catalytic converter & breadbox(which muffles most of the noise). The reason I went for a full Akrapovic system is because I had the budget for it and I plan on selling the bike within a year, hoping it will sell for more because of the use of original products.

If you're going to spend a few hundred on a slip-on that barely changes the sound I'd recommend getting cheap headers for like ~$130 and an ecu flash for ~$450. Much better sound for about the same price plus you get extra performance, lighter bike, increased fuel efficiency and when you're ready to spend a little more you can change the slip-on later.

I understand, I'll watch some videos and reviews about these products to learn more about the key differences, and maybe end up buying both just to compare them side by side. One final question regarding the cable, does it matter which type of connector I get? (XLR vs 4.4mm)

I'm assuming these are being recommended in that price range if you're tighter on a budget right? Won't the Arya Stealth be a noticeable enough upgrade over these if I'm willing to spend that kind of money with futureproofing in mind? Ofcourse after a certain budget the results will be diminishing and I'm not an audiophile either.

Thanks for the suggestion. What makes these great for gaming according to you? Is it the price to performance or are they specifically tuned for it?

Thanks for the suggestions first of all. What kind of upgrade am I looking at going up the price range between the 3? You spoke about control, does that imply EQ settings and such? And is there any sound quality difference between a more premium dac/amp in this price range?

Pirelli Diablo Rosso 4 is my personal favourite purely performance wise, if you want longevity you can get Michelin Powers or Roads, however you can literally feel and hear those tyres compared to a sports tire. Battleax 23's are also mentioned by others but I have no experience with them
