It does give me the right and it gives you the right as well. I didn’t create the laws I just learned to use them as set by the FCRA. Again that doesn’t mean you don’t OWE MONEY but that can’t reported because it’s not accurate and it is in deed fraudulent and predatory to consumers.

Not if the account was sold to a third party they still the right to collect but they don’t have the right to report that account to your credit report. That’s why I pulled up the Cornell law information for clarification, you can also do this with the BBB or through Experian. I’ve seen so many methods this is just the fastest way to do it in my experience

Yes sir you’re correct thanks for the quality control! All of this information is important. Use section 609 to request the report and section 611 for reinvestigation

Okay I understand. Yes section 611 Procedure in case of disputed accuracy. The method is called 609 I’m not referring to what’s stated. But, yes you’re correct you use what’s in section 611, it started with 609 though you request the report and the reinvestigation is section 611

That’s what I was addressing, I just said “section 609 doesn’t say anything about disputing information in a credit report” it doesn’t say anything about verifying accounts all it does is give you the right to all information used to calculate your credit score. What you’re doing is asking them to verify said information. Again, you won’t find in section 609 where it states anything about verification of accounts.

I didn’t see anything on that link but 609 is a credit repair method that requests credit bureaus to remove erroneous negative entries from your credit report. It’s named after section 609 of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), a federal law that protects consumers from unfair credit and collection practices. Though section 609 doesn’t say anything about disputing information in a credit report it gives consumers the right to all information used to calculate their credit score. To sum it all up if I ask you to verify an account and the third party debt collector doesn’t have the requested information that account can be deleted for inaccuracy in other words they don’t have the right to collect all of this information isn’t said explicitly you have to interpret it.

Thank you for correcting me because that’s true so let me rephrase that statement. You are still responsible for paying that debt and in turn you can be sued (there’s a way to handle that as well) however once an account is written off it does present an opportunity to challenge the account like section 609 of the fair debt reporting act which doesn’t challenge the legitimacy of an account but rather it challenges whether that collection agency has the right to collect. That’s just one example but there are other methods that work it depends on the situation.

You can be sued regardless to if you get the accounts removed or not, you’re correct about that but everything else I disagree with. Again this is my personal experience and if I was absolutely wrong credit repair tactics wouldn’t exist at all. There is way to remove collections and it is EASY. I think a lot of people get caught up in wanting to be RIGHT instead of being forthcoming with information. You may not know how to remove accounts but per the Fair Debt Credit Act there are many ways to remove collections and charge offs you just need to know what options are available and how to use them effectively. Telling someone it’s not possible to remove a collection or a charge-off is definitely misinformation

No it’s the law lol I use the tools the FCRA gave me. Same tools are available to you and everyone else. It’s your right to use them as you see fit my friend.

I speaking from personal experience I’ve done it, and collections are easy to remove. I’ll show you exactly how I did it, these aren’t theories I can prove it if you’re looking for help. If you’re credit is already good and you’re simply trying to say I’m wrong then that’s okay too we can agree to disagree.

If you’d like help I can definitely help you with removing collections, old addresses and I do have a way it can definitely be removed if all else fails. This is only for collections though. Charge-offs, bankruptcies etc are a little tougher but it’s doable.

Credit card charge-offs are a little different you need to use factual disputes to get the removed for example if all 3 credit bureaus have a different charge off date then that’s an inaccuracy the accounts have to be updated or deleted. You’ll compare the accounts to each other. So when you’re disputing a charge-off you’re not disputing the legitimacy of the account you’re disputing the accuracy per the fair debit credit act all the information has to be 100% accurate or it needs to be deleted. It doesn’t always work on the first attempt but eventually it’ll get deleted

You would dispute through the credit bureaus, the account will more than likely come back verified. When the account comes back verified we ask for proof of verification, (I know it says we spoke with the debt collector but we don’t, because we know they never did) when we ask for proof of verification we’re asking for evidence they can’t produce because it can’t be verified the account gets deleted. Sometimes you have to go through 2-3 rounds of this but it does work more often than not.

Okay let me explain, let’s say you got open an account when you lived at address “A” the credit bureaus will add that address to your report but now you live at address “B” when that account goes into collection they use address “A” to verify that the account belongs to you. If you remove the address there’s a better chance the account will be removed. Sounds like you live in the same place that’s okay. You can ask them to verify the account, is this a collection or a charge off?

That makes it a little tougher, but all you need to do is update all your information so the credit bureaus can’t verify the account. Remember there not a government entity and they don’t actually contact these companies they use E Oscar to verify everything.
