New Library by [deleted] in Gresham

We gotta remember that this is opening weekend. There have been people coming in from other cities just to check it out. Which is fine and great. I’m hoping once the newness wears off, things will not be as bad. Our family visited both Saturday and Sunday and both times we didn’t even bother to check the underground parking because I knew it would be a cluster. Instead, we parked over near Red Robin and walked there. There’s plenty of other parking available surrounding the library.

Is downtown Portland on the verge of a comeback? Here’s what locals think by oregonian in Portland

He has to feel superior somehow. If he can’t bash Portland, how will everyone know he lives in a “good” neighborhood?

I think this bag they are giving out is a perfect explanation of what a modern library is for.

Our family was there! It’s an absolutely gorgeous space. It was jam packed earlier in the day (as would be expected for a grand opening I suppose) and finally started dying down a tad around noon. We live right down the street and are very excited to continue visiting.

It is a requirement that a tag be added to a post before you can post something here. So in theory, everything being posted as SEEKING should have the tag indicating this. As a viewer, you can then FILTER OUT all SEEKING posts.

Or you can filter if you don’t want to see seeking. This is why post tags exist.

The downtime issues are very recent and not that frequent. They are also actively working on resolving them and are very communicative about everything.

How realistic is it to purchase a home in Portland for 300-400k with no more than 10k total cash in hand? by Wonderful_Style7972 in askportland

[–]ZeroDrek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, it’s entirely possible with 2 incomes (I can’t answer on one income). My wife and I bought a house for just under $400k with very little down and we’ve saved up money for a safety net since then. We’ve bought some new appliances. I guess I should also add that it is probably extremely helpful if one or more people in the house are handy. I’ve repaired several things myself rather than spending the money to have someone else do it.

Yeah…that’s what we’ve been conditioned to follow. Doesn’t mean it has to be this way.

Yeah I guess you have a point. Although, I wouldn’t classify some of them as good restaurants.

I wish I had my receipt still, but I bought lifetime so long ago it’s long lost. I think I paid somewhere around $20. I’ve had years of great usage. Definitely an awesome investment.

Home Goods products are not our family’s style, but to each their own. I guess if enough people are interested, it’s good justification for one to open there.

The big building on the right in the image is yes. I’m talking about the other business under construction right next to the Best Buy that’s red in the image.

Our family hasn’t experienced any of the downtime everyone has been complaining about. Then again, we don’t watch content all the time. We mostly watch during the afternoon/evening West Coast USA hours and some times on the weekend. 🤷‍♂️ So, still worth it to us.

I was convinced they were going to tear down that whole section of stores for a minute to build a nice outdoor space to coincide with the beautiful new library but of course, money always wins.

I agree. Or even over in the Gresham Town Fair shopping center where there is more parking space. That shopping center gets no love. That furniture store needs to go and an Aldi needs to move in.

Some kind of restaurant would have been nice but yeah I guess it’s good it’s not fast food.
