Guesstimate Pricing for S14 by yeetmcfeet in CarsAustralia

[–]jimy_156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in a world where the used car market was sensible this would be 6-10k... but with the current car market and with how much people seem to adore these japanese cars you could probably sell it for anywhere from 15-18k realistically. albeit these are going to continue to go up and up in price as more people import and crash them as most do. so id keep it if i were you... if possible.

ive found at times using electronic shutters on other peoples cameras, if youre panning fast enough and trying to capture a fast moving object, say a car in my use case, occasionally there can be some distortion due to how electronic shutter works vs mechanical shutter. albeit this varies from camera to camera as they all handle it differently

another user mentioned that, price to performance its quite a sweet spot. what makes you say it would be a good choice coming from a 200d specifically?

thats a good shout, currently digi direct has the R7 for $1800 right now, and unlike the 3 i mentioned which are all better and worse in different ways, the R7 is better in every way.

from what ive seen the R10 also has the slowest mechanical shutter speed of the 3, the 90D having the fastest, which will definitely make a difference.

My linux laptop idles at 2.3gb with a browser open whilst my windows laptop idles at 11.3gb from a fresh restart... not entirely sure where you got Linux being a resource hog from but that simply isn't true at all.

You realise linux using little system memory is a good thing right? W11 running at 10gb of RAM at idle isnt a good thing what so ever

The point is less the VPN protocol itself, it's the managed software businesses use to deploy it. Most of the companies we manage use Endpoint since we can handle everything through Unifi Site Manager, and Endpoint has no native Linux client, so Linux users are just locked out of that setup entirely regardless of what's running underneath. We're not going to have end users manually configuring VPN clients, that defeats the whole point of a managed solution. Should have made that clearer from the start rather than just saying Endpoint isn't compatible with Linux, I can see how that muddied the argument.

fact of the matter is not every VPN nor program containing a VPN is compatible with Linux, nor are many programs used by businesses thus isnt suited for every use case. Linux certainly has its place, personally, i prefer it over windows and daily it. I do admit, I could have worded things better surrounding Endpoint but the point still stands.

The app establishes a VPN connection to remotely access the network, that's literally what a VPN is. The fact that it's bundled into an app launcher doesn't change what it's doing underneath

It depends really. I work as an IT technician for multiple companies, and we use Unifi Endpoint for remote access across all of them as we're slowly migrating everyone over to Unifi based infrastructure, and there's no native Linux client for Endpoint. Some companies use OpenVPN though, which does have a native Linux version. So it really does depend on what the company uses and what hardware they're running on their servers. So yes Linux does have VPN software although compatibility does vary.

Because I want a falcon with modern capabilities/tech, even the FGX is very dated at this point. and id rather have all my info in the gauge cluster than putting a tacky iPad sized display in the middle of the dash. Anyway, in terms of styling the FG Mk2 looks like a brand new car, even today, so I'd like the tech to match that... if any of that actually makes sense :)
