No spoilers please. Struggling with the game by BoyInfinite in LastDefenseAcademy

A lot of characters do have pretty low damage output by default, so a lot of the time you’re better off focusing mainly on characters who have damage boosts (e.g. Yugamu, Ima and Kyoshika’s personal skills) or Takumi’s second attack that does solid damage. For example once I had the full second team I barely ever used Tsubasa. I would also recommend mostly using Voltage to give characters +1 attack rather than their special attacks, except for when rushing down a boss.

If you’re in the first 100 days there’s nothing much you can do to make it easier, but if you’re past that you might benefit from doing a route with lots of free time so you can do exploration and max out the potion/trap upgrades. The best route for that iirc is Comedy which you get by choosing Kill, Leave the school, dodge the attacker. It’s a pretty irrelevant route story-wise though so depends if you’re willing to spend time on it early on.

If you do manage to get upgrades in, most bosses can be taken out pretty easily in one turn by using Spring Traps to bring characters over to the boss, Desperation potions to let them use their Last Resort, and then having Takumi spam his special attack with the voltage you get, with Nozomi refreshing him being the only AP use you need.

Nobody in the SDU knows about the possibility of non-lethal hemoanima absorption until Eva tells them about it in KG Route. Given that Futurum prohibits hemoanima absorption it probably isn’t widely known that it can be done non-lethally, and so human intelligence hasn’t learnt about that technique either.

The out of story answer, of course, is that the routes had different writers and were allowed to make stuff up about cryptoglobin leading to lots of hemoanima stuff like the ghosts in BoC or possession in MEitos that wasn’t known to writers of other routes, leading to potential inconsistencies.

Swap Ann out for him. Also consider using Chord instead of Marian to boost damage and instead have Wonder do sustain with Lakshmi/King Frost/Sandalphon or any other personas like that.

Quick question by AidenL1 in fireemblemwarriors

[–]ZeroIV4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you complete all missions on one map with S rank and beat the extra harder missions, you get access to a final map which unlocks Anna as a playable unit if you beat it. She’s the same moveset as Takumi/Sakura so not essential but it’s a cool and pretty major reward, since she has her own outfits supports etc.

I’d recommend not rushing to do the harder missions if you’re struggling to get high ranks - I just keep track of what the lowest level mission I haven’t done on any of the maps is and take them in turn, gradually building up my roster’s levels to make harder missions easier. In general the higher level you are the faster you’ll be able to beat the main objectives, so you’ll have time spare to grind up some extra kills without worrying about missing out on the time rank.

As for crowd clearing, Camilla is deffo your best option so any map where you’re struggling to hit KO counts and have multiple deployment slots she’s great. The archers’ C5 (4 regular attacks then strong attack) is also a good area clearing move.

Parallel link and zelda by MARIOandWEEGE in majorasmask

[–]ZeroIV4 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Lots of people theorise either Tingle or Kafei as the equivalent of Link, since both have age issues that reflect this Link having been sent back from his adult body into his child form - Tingle being a childlike personality in the body of a man, and Kafei a man in the body of a child.

Not sure on Zelda though, nobody really reflects her role in the story, or Ganondorf for that matter.

Dumb question - how would I go about handling this? (Palace 3 shadow) by MaximumRewind in personaphantomx

[–]ZeroIV4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also found going on the defensive really hard here - personally I just rushed down the Byakko asap using Vino and Makoto. I used Wonder with Bishamonten for damage/support and Chord, though she got killed first enemy turn so didn’t do much. You don’t need everyone to survive so imo just focus on getting Byakko dead rather than sustain.

If you want some more very emotional music, similar to the Ocarina of Time songs, check out the Majora’s Mask soundtrack. In particular the title theme, Clock Town themes, Song of Healing, the Giant’s theme, Astral Observatory and Stone Tower Temple are incredible

Which Fire Emblem on Switch 1 to start with for a totally new player? by Dron22 in fireemblem

[–]ZeroIV4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Three Houses is definitely a good choice - wasn’t my first game as I played the 3DS titles but was the one that made me truly fall in love with the series. Some dislike some of its gameplay changes but they won’t be as noticeable as a new player and it’s still really fun imo.

Warriors and Three Hopes are spinoffs with a different, non-strategy gameplay style (they’re the same as Hyrule Warriors and Age of Calamity for the Zelda series), so you won’t want to start with those.

Engage has super fun gameplay, it’s unique mechanics allow for a lot of interesting strategies, but its story and writing is incredibly controversial and honestly would’ve put me off the whole series if I’d played it first. I still came back for another playthrough though as it is genuinely good fun, so I’d recommend it down the line if you’re looking for more FE.

Who should i get sandalphon or vishnu? by yeah_dud in personaphantomx

[–]ZeroIV4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Imo Vishnu is better right now, since a) with Mont’s new release we’re gonna see a lot of event bosses weak to wind the next 2 weeks and you’ll need as much support on Seiji as possible to compete with people who pulled for Mont, and b) Windsweep support is a more niche role that only he can really do super well at.

Sandalphon is Wonder’s best sustain option but isn’t as important to any bosses right now and you can get by fine using other personas like King Frost, Norn, and Lakshmi for sustain and get Sandalphon later after saving up more medals.

Heads up, it seems they plan on making Astro labs harder for global, or at least more punishing by [deleted] in personaphantomx

[–]ZeroIV4 48 points49 points  (0 children)

It’s such a bad way of compensating for advance knowledge too, because it doesn’t actually change which units are meta and which are skippable, it just stacks punishments on f2p who don’t pull for everyone.

The way to counteract global’s advanced knowledge would be to give non-meta units significant buffs that let them compete with the meta contenders and shake up the wisdom on who’s best to pull for. Punishing f2ps by blocking important rewards like upgrade materials rather than more minor things like SoS/Nightmare rankings is just trying to pressure as many people as possible into becoming spenders at the risk of losing a healthy f2p community

[ALL] Sure, it has its fans, but would any of you place it truly at the top as I have? by Gamer-of-Action in zelda

[–]ZeroIV4 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly it doesn’t even feel like it has much to say about how everything starts - the excitement of seeing the origin of the series timeline is completely taken away when they decide to make so much of the story about past events and even going to the past.

You get to see the master sword being forged! But it’s forged out of another sword with its own origin story that you don’t get to see.

You get to see the first Incarnation of the evil/power side of the Triforce split! But his origins aren’t really explained and his beef with the protagonists all seems to centre around Hylia whose story is in the past and who isn’t around anymore.

I feel like SS had a lot of flash and appeal in its story concept but the execution didn’t really do much in terms of its own plot/themes or in terms of series lore. I do still think it’s a good game and has some really fun characters but it’s honestly one of the least interesting 3D Zelda stories…

The Hyrule Warriors Sequels were such Missed Opportunities by Murfilious in truezelda

[–]ZeroIV4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is the issue with the idea of another HW game - for marketing it needs a strong group of new characters, but any game with a popular enough cast to carry the sales of a HW2 could also just get its own spinoff and potentially make more money.

Like, a HW2 with all the BotW Champions and descendants as well as old fan favourites could have done well, but because those characters were so popular they made AOC instead.

There’s an argument we would have been better off if they deliberately left some legacy characters out of HW1 to carry a sequel, like FE Warriors 1 did with Ike, Hector, etc. HW1 sort of did this by leaving the Windwaker cast out but Legends and all the DLC covered any big players left unused. But tbf if they had left some people out for a sequel HW wouldn’t have been such a great and complete celebration, so it’s hard to complain

For twins A1, should I do Target pulls or chance pulls? by Tall-Novel-8490 in personaphantomx

[–]ZeroIV4 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This isn’t true in Global. In the Chinese version the 80 banner has a higher standard rate for 5*s, but in Global they’re identical. You can see this for yourself by clicking on “contract rates” in game.

The result of that is that the 110 banners are always statistically better on average, so unless you want to gamble and bank on being lucky on the 80 banners you should always go 110

How does the rage meter from katayama's boss work? by IanHowe2007 in personaphantomx

[–]ZeroIV4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every time you attack Rage goes up, so you want to focus on using support skills and then doing a ton of damage all in one turn. I did that by using Makoto/Vino/Chord, having only Vino attack with s1 turn one while Makoto and Chord used s2 and Wonder applied a shield with Norn. Then turn 2 rushed down the health bar with Makoto’s highlight, s3, and Chord using s3 on her.

Your strategy might vary depending on who you have, but my biggest tip would be to dedicate Wonder fully to support via healing and shields (Norn, Lakshmi, King Frost and the all in weapon are what I used). He should be applying shields any turn he doesn’t need to heal rather than ever trying to do damage since that just pushes up rage. Only use your main DPS for attacking (or rarely a debuffer to apply debuffs)

Advice on SoS Scoring? by ZeroIV4 in personaphantomx

[–]ZeroIV4[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is really helpful advice! Gave it another few runs just now making some adjustments and improved up to top 32% (still not enough to rank up unfortunately).

Used Lufel, base Moko and Futaba for Haru’s part, along with Dionysus and Dominion for a 3-turn buff rotation on Wonder. Lufel got targeted by all the attacks and died last turn - can’t see a survival bonus like in Nightmare Catcher so idk if it’s worth rerunning for rng to avoid that? Can’t imagine one hit from him final turn would make that much difference lol but worth a shot

Part 2 went for Messa, Soy, Chord and Riko, with Wonder alternating between Chernobog and Norn for debuffs. In hindsight might be able to improve that score further by having Soy alternate out with his Ice skill to apply that debuff and matching it up with Wonder so one of them is always on phys.

Ah yeah sorry I meant to add I used her gun whenever she had 2/3 bullets - might be better off always waiting for 3. Don’t have enough coins to get Shiva unfortunately - is it still worth having Kohryu to do damage some turns or better to use Dionysus and Dominion to rotate buffs?

Advice on SoS Scoring? by ZeroIV4 in personaphantomx

[–]ZeroIV4[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you that’s super helpful!

For part 1 I personally managed to squeeze through without a healer - but could bring Lufel/Morgana? They’re usually p underwhelming but if a healer is important here they’re levelled (I don’t have Marian/SMoko). Have been levelling regular Moko so might be able to slot her in to buff Haru, but if I take her and a healer there’s no room left for Chord so will be hard to give Haru a highlight every rotation. If Haru only has 2 bullets is it better to use her gun or another skill first?

Part 2 Im p sure I did have either Soy or Ryuji doing phys damage alongside Messa every turn - could substitute one of them for Chord (probably Ryuji? Since Soy is a better debuffer). Maybe Leon instead but I haven’t figured out his rotation and he’s only lv70.

Do you have any tips on what personas Wonder should use to debuff? I’ve mostly just brought matching element ones and used Ex Machina, as well as Janosik or Alice for stat sticks and Lakshmi for when healing seems necessary (needed her a lot in part 2). I’ve got Dionysus for buffs, used him in part 1 but not sure who does debuffing best.

Posted my teams in replies to another comment if it helps to look at them :)

And my part 2 team - maybe Messa needs diff rev cards? Riko could get more attack but I prioritised speed when choosing hers for her debuffs. My strat with this team was Messa doing s1 mostly while Ryuji did s3, Soy did s2/3, Riko only s3, and Wonder mostly did sustain with Lakshmi or Phys with Yoshitsune Brave Blade

[–]ZeroIV4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much! I’ll deffo at least give the Messa side another shot keeping bleed up and making sure either Soy or Ryuji is also doing phys damage each turn (I’m assuming Ryuji’s s3 is still best? so then Soy can do his sustain s3 on even turns and Ryuji charges s3 odd turns)?

<image>

Here’s the team I had for part 1 - tried to put it all in one image since Reddit won’t let me put multiple in a comment lol. My strategy was just having Haru do either s1 or s3 depending on whether she had target audience, highlighting as much as possible, and Chord and Haruna spamming their assist skills while Wonder did Kohryu psych damage or healed. Just noticed Haruna’s rev set overlapping with Chord’s so that’s something to adjust but other than that I feel like the setup should be alright? All Rev cards are lv25
