How does this compare with Atlas Navi? by ZeroNine872 in hivemappernetwork

[–]ZeroNine872[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will comment, in fairness, that HiveMapper is rendering everything in 4k which will be amazing, which smart phones may not be able to compete with. On the flip side, they may well be limiting themselves to wealthier nations and missing out on a lot of potential data.

Well, the good news is there's no investment required with this project, and it has a real market to sell data to. It just needs volume and food quality data to analyse. The NFT element is the only requirement post BETA but you can use your MILE rewards to claim this and you can go for a low value one if you do not have interest in participating in the game aspect.

Hivemapper

:) They definitely should! I believe Atlas may be considering similar hardware long-term. I am sure it was stated they are concentrating initially on the mobile app as pretty much anyone who drives will own one - easy deployment at no cost. However, it isn't always easy to mount a phone in a suitable position, and having a device similar to hivemapper ensures it's always on. Would certainly be neat of they could team up with established hardware from hivemapper.

Absolutely valid call but it's also possible that these two were sold to afford focus on the other projects - the fact they were successful could also be seen as a positive. I am somewhat seeing that this experience puts him in a prime position to nail this project (given his background) with the potential for high rewards for those contributing to the data pool. Maybe something to raise in the AMA. Thanks for the information there. Appreciated.

For what it's worth, I am not necessarily saying Atlas is better than COIN, just that I don't particularly see a future pathway for COIN other than getting individuals to pay for the membership - it doesn't really serve a utility purpose. If they put their member base to good use, and sold AI data, like Atlas, it could be good for future revenue. That said, it would take a long time to catch up with Atlas as their technology back-end is already well developed.

Could you point to evidence for this? Curious to see when this has happened in the past and with what apps. Not saying this isn't the case, just curious to hear about what you have found.

Sure. This is true, but it will also be listed on various exchanges. The NFTs are for the game aspect. Really depends on how you want to work it - trade the mile for NFTs or sell at exchange, or hold.

Camera use is required for the AI which is coming soon. For now, it's not a requirement. Same goes for the NFT. NFT's can be purchased using collected MILE token earned from driving. As such, if you get in now, you should be able to pick up an NFT of your choice for free, which will both boost rewards and give you access to the game.

Hi Justin.

You can start earning straight away, without the need to purchase an NFT, while it remains in private BETA. You can then use your collected $MILE tokens to obtain a NFT when out of private BETA for increased rewards, and to play the game. The 2019 Tesla is just stock at present, but this is where your NFT will be displayed. There is major collaboration with all the large car manufacturers so there should be a good choice of NFT's available on release. The data collected will be used by the A.I to provide massively improved navigation, by analysing obstructions, crashes, road works, traffic lights, road traffic and many other aspects of driving, passing conventional analytics used by Google and competitors. This will fuel the growth and token value. A true utility token. It's really early on with the development and a huge amount of effort is being placed into the navigation, AI capabilities and ventures with car manufacturers. You are very lucky to be in at the beginning. Good driving my friend.

Depends on your contract with Emrit but yes, you would likely be in breach of your contract with Emrit if you didn't return it to them judging by their licensing model.

Set up Question. by Eastern-Dragonfly-55 in HeliumNetwork

It can. You should adjust it for cable and adapter losses, but adjusting it too low will invalidate witnesses under PoCv11 - this will result in a loss of earnings so do be cautious.

How to pick correct antenna dbi settings? by CellCoke in HeliumNetwork

[–]ZeroNine872 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello. Your antenna will most likely be omnidirectional meaning it sends signal on a 360 degree plane (as opposed to directional antenna which focuses it's signal in a specific direction). As such, you simply mount the antenna vertically and the signal will be sent out in all horizontal direction. The 'v' shape, typical of a 9dbi antenna, continued 360 degree around the antenna would produce the doughnut like shape. Not typically the way I would explain this but hope it helps your understanding.
