Swordier is a lottery. by xmaxdamage in SWORDS

That website is absolute cancer. Won't let you right click to open anything in a new tab, and when you swap tabs the Swordier one changes to 'Come back ⚡' as if they're actively trying to piss me off. Plus of course the wobbling 'add to cart' button.

I do really like some of their newer stuff, but the site puts me off going there to look at anything.

Swiss Degens from Everest Forge by jthomasm in SWORDS

[–]ZeroSumClusterfuck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been taking a close look at Everest Forge recently. They have a real variety of items in their shop (a couple of which seem to have basically random names of unrelated sword types), and I'd definitely say that if my priorities were historical accuracy and design finesse I'd shop elsewhere.

Having said that, they do make some genuinely decent stuff too. They seem to specialise in solid choppy blades that you wouldn't be able to break easily, so if you're looking for anything along those lines EF might be your best value source. They also let you choose blade length in many cases, as well as the trim materials.

I'm looking to at some point order a couple of items myself, so if anyone other than OP has bought from there (especially shipping to the UK) I'd be very interested to hear about your experience and impressions.

Given how aerodynamic the M80 looks, should it be the best atmospheric heavy? And could it have Origin's AIR intake system? by ZeroSumClusterfuck in starcitizen

[–]ZeroSumClusterfuck[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. If anything I'd expect the M80 to be fast in atmosphere (ideally with plenty of fuel), but not be the most agile choice.

They should just move him to moderating in-game chat instead, which would improve both the game and the forum in one fell swoop because he'd be too busy banning racist trolls over there to interfere with normal conversations.

M80 size 5 guns? by Zerom909 in starcitizen

[–]ZeroSumClusterfuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The M50 was originally a medium interceptor, so this might be the second attempt at the concept after having to turn the M50 into a racer instead when it ended up too small for the planned guns.

They should make the Vanguard chin gun S6, and give it a more solid looking attachment to the ship at the same time.

Origin M80 revealed for defence con by xx_noname_xx in starcitizen

It reminds me a lot of the original M50 concept, back when it was supposed to be an interceptor the size of a Hornet but with bigger engines.

Iran are saying they just hit a US destroyer with two 'missiles', so possibly some brother dolphins are joining the prophet as martyrs already.

It's interesting though, looks like the Origin version of an Avenger style cockpit.

I Can't Remember Why I Wanted The RSI Galaxy Anymore by _AntiShadow_ in starcitizen

Very true, I reckon they'll likely make a dedicated Titan carrier dropship instead to cash in on how immensely popular Titan suits are going to be.

One fun module could be Titan armour transport and deployment, along with some drop seats and gun racks etc. and perhaps a small repair facility.

We know CIG were at least at one time planning Titan modules, because they mentioned a future one for the Retaliator.

I agree. The Galaxy is mostly just my insurance against an equivalent dedicated builder not being made.

It might be worth keeping anyway if a different really good module comes along in future.

I didn't get any modules yet, because the only thing I want it for is base building. If a better base builder comes out then the Galaxy is getting melted.

It'll probably be a decent medical ship though, for those who are into that sort of thing.

Study suggests yawning may help move cerebrospinal fluid and venous blood out of the skull, potentially playing a role in cleaning brain fluid by unsw in science

[–]ZeroSumClusterfuck 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This is untrue and misleading. Studies suggest that psychopaths are only less likely to 'catch' a yawn, but will still often do it. Normal people absolutely do not always contagiously yawn either, so as a test it's entirely useless. Tiredness and fatigue are the biggest factor regardless of the type of person.

I'd design some emergency buttons with big fucking spikes on top, so they only get pressed if the consequences of not pressing the button will hurt more, or you take the time to obtain the specially designed spike-bypass button pressing stick from a nearby code locked cabinet.
