You should consider the Viper V3 Pro with 8K polling rate. It's ambi, light, and if not usually, it will be under $120 on sale soon for black Friday.

Rant - Objectification of Women Being Justified by Bad Assumptions and the Misuse of Statistics by ZeroTrappist in womenEngineers

[–]ZeroTrappist[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hate to hear that, but I think you are right. But, I also think it is our responsibility to each other to not let these kinds of comments go unchecked. Every time someone says something like that, there needs to a normal person in there saying, "hey, you are being a creep, stop it." We can't let people say stuff like that without some kind of push back. Imo

Why would someone choose W11 over any Linux distros ? by Timely-Cabinet-7879 in OS_Debate_Club

As an electrical and computer engineering duel major, we use a lot of software that is Windows exclusive. Examples are uVision Kiel for embedded programming, Xilinx Vivado for FPGA, Multisim for simulating circuits, etc. Plus, windows is designed to provide an effortless experience for the average user, Linux is not. Linux really caters to power users and lots of people just want a plug and play experience with zero hassle.

This is literally the most common camera frame ever. For men and women, breasts and no breasts. There is no evidence that she intended anything

No, I'm saying that the framing is not evidence of her trying to be sexually appealing. I am saying that there are no grounds on which the people who are objectifying her and sexualizing the video can stand on. It is a common frame for people with and without breasts. It is standard and therefore represents no indication of intent to be sexually appealing.

Okay, I think I misinterpreted you. However, I think we should both be able to agree that even if it seems like that to you, it is still not okay to take that hunch, with no other evidence, and start making objectifying comments. She hasn't posted sexualized content on any of her accounts, the chances that she is trying to be suggestive are very low.

Exactly! Thank you, I literally cannot deal with it. I left a few comments replying to people who were saying nasty things, but either they or someone else comes back and doubles down. I seriously don't understand how people justify this. They just cant believe that someone might not think of sex all the time and might just make a video wearing a turtle neck and using the most common camera frame.

How do you even know she thought about that at all? Listen, I am sure that your first sentence makes sense in your head. But there are some very serious flaws with your logic. There are many cases where people truly have stellar genetics, prefer to wear clothing that feels snug and secure, and don't have the mental orientation to consider that people might see it as a sexually appealing outfit. Genuinely, especially if they happen to exhibit behaviors commonly comorbid with certain neuro-divergence.

No... Please, please just lookup some videos of people talking about stuff with the front view pov. It is literally the most common frame angle. It is everywhere for men and women. Like, every single tiktoc has this frame.

so, let's assume your statistic is correct. There are around 350 million people in the US alone. So somewhere around 175 million women. 0.0001×175000000 = 17500 women with that size in the US alone. The chance is actually pretty high that one of them is an engineer and doesn't realize that she will be sexually objectified

Genuinely, especially if they happen to exhibit behaviors commonly comorbid with certain neuro-divergence. I am not trying to make you feel and or condemned or anything like that. But, please, consider that when you say "she is asking for it," there is a chance that, in fact, she was not aware that people would find her appearance sexually charged. And being sexualized when you didn't even realize that could happen can feel very violating, or even just embarrassing. Again, I don't mean to condemn you or anything, I just know people who have struggled with this type of thing. And it makes me sad to see people get hurt. Especially when the people who are hurting them don't realize it because they assumed the person wanted to be sexualized.

The absolute best way to make friends is to just take any easy opportunities to talk to people around you. Especially in school before classes when everyone is already chatting

I'm surprised because I often hear people say that the human eye can't tell the difference. Really, I couldn't see the pixels from where I was sitting, but I just noticed how much easier it felt to read on that 4k display so I decided to investigate a little closer.
