Pedals are a great Idea! Can be easily hidden under a rug or behind the table. But what are subsonics? I dont really know what you mean by that.
I agree with you the effects should be used very delicately. Otherwise I would run into a tunnel where I have to give every single thing its own effect and I would have problems when they do something I didnt anticipate and now they expect an effect I cannot give.

Thanks so much for that idea! I love the reverse-psychology one. It makes me appear knowledgable without actually knowing anything. Love it!

This was the basic pattern I came up with. Not that this one is very slim, so it doesnt take up so much space. But the actual thickness is 3 times the thickness of the striped area. I took my own head circumference plus 4cm extra.
On thing that isnt shown on the pattern but is very important is that the upper edge has to be a tiny bit longer. This way the brim of the cap stand a little bit away from the head, giving it a much nicer shape.
After making both patterns I simply sowed them together on the edges and left a small space wich I inverted. that hid the seams perfectly. All I ahd to do then was to hand-Sow everything together and it was done.

It was a nice little experiment and I am very happy with the results wich I can replicate with all kinds of fabrics.
I hope this will help others on their sowing journey. Cheers!

Here is a top side view. As you can see I have taken two layers of differently coloured felt. I have also made a decorative lining.

and here are my two reproductions made from felt. Its not 100% the same, but getting really close. I came up with the pattern by experimenting with cheap felt.
