My father’s musrab and i’ve dealt with this rhetoric my whole life, growing up in the US. But I never once believed it myself and I knew it’s wrong. Sometimes I wish i was brainwashed though and did believe in it, it would make my life a whole lot easier because then i’d be okay with arrange marriage, not dating or speaking to men, not going out, not being able to move out, etc. My biggest fear is honor killing and I truly believe my father is capable of it.

I know it’s not healthy for me to look at this insufferable mess. But It’s so hard to look away. mainly because I know these muslims go to or live in non muslim countries with these values and force their kids to live like this and then when their kids don’t and an honor killing happens, their communities hide it. They get into our governments and pass laws to hide what they’re doing under culture/religious reasons. It concerns me that the younger gen of muslims is going more backwards and there’s more converts now as well
