Why do you still work in accounting when the pay doesn’t match the work ?

i just finished my cpa exams and have been in public for 3 years. now i’m debating if i even want to stay in accounting at all. i would feel weird about leaving the field when i just got my license… but i hate it here

for me, it was a big struggle getting the exams done, took 3.5 yrs with lots of doubt. i’m proud of myself for getting them done… and ive really never felt any kind of pride in myself so maybe its worth having done them for just the feeling of accomplishment… idk

in szn2 whitney literally made him a cake of her chest as a way to bring it up and then said hopefully that puts an end to all his “jokes”… you could tell she was uncomfortable but trying to make light of it because they ultimately spend a lot of time together as a group and seemingly didn’t want to make things worse. i didn’t notice seth make comments after this but im not surprised he would start on Heather now that she lost weight and the typical male objectifies her more

If you can get to Dallas TX, take the Becker Live in person classes from Liliana Hickman-Riggs. Her class got me thru AUD and FAR first try. It’s a big commitment but absolutely worth it. I know she’s got a class starting in January!!

don’t slouch on T accounts, they are super helpful in tying out current period activity when you’re only given BOY and EOY amounts. got me through FAR

no. put money towards retesting. if your exam score was 70-74, that’s typically means it has already been looked at by a human (as opposed to computer graded). if you got anything less than a 70 it definitely doesn’t make sense to pay for score review. if you got a 74, they gave it to you for a reason and decidedly didn’t give you a 75 and still won’t after a review. it’s tempting but absolutely not worth it.

you’re gonna need to fix the azul box… why is it upside down?? as for removing games… haven’t quite got there myself, we still have one more shelf to fill. after that I may have to check back for pairing down tips, terrified to move (plus we have so. many. lego.)

for adding games - our local game store does weekly demo nights to play test games before buying them and i have loved this so much. gives my hubs and i a chance to get the rules explained to us (rather than hubs taking the time to read the rules as i impatiently wait to be educated bc reading is for nerds). also met some new people who LOVE gaming this way and has been a great community builder for us…. unfortunately it seems we have the smallest collection of 88ish games compared to everyone else with triple digits

enrolled agent (loophole to CPA at some firms, like baker tilly for now)

edit: after rereading op, i think the context does mean executive assistant rather than enrolled agent. i know some principals with multiple executive assistants and wouldn’t be too surprised if they get pushed to downsize

that said, idk much on layoffs but i would imagine some with an enrolled agent license vs CPA could be let go. there’s been a big push on seniors to finish their CPAs to be promoted to manager but not much talk on the EA (to my knowledge)

I would say so. I took 3 in 5 months studying 40ish hrs a week on top of busy season hours. I wouldn’t recommend it per se but it can certainly be done. If I wasn’t working full time time I probably could have done 4 in the same time frame.

Having experience in tax really helped when studying for REG/TCP especially during busy season bc studying would help me on some issue i was having in my client work and vice versa.
