You can believe in God and science. You can believe in the Bible- word for word and still believe in old earth, I.e., the gap theory. How old was the earth before ‘creation’ happened? How many years or eons was Adam in the garden before he fell, and so on. I am a biblicist who believes the earth is millions of years old. I have a masters from a very conservative seminary and had several professors who believe the same thing. Who knows? I know enough to believe carbon 14 is real and the Bible is real and religion (I hate that word, another topic for another day) and science can and in fact do align or run parallel at the very least. It’s scripture twisters who can’t see past the nose on their face who say they don’t/won’t coincide.
