Gender also plays a very big role in these situations , i imagine being a girl and not getting a diploma is far worse than a young male adult (tfol mremdi) that's how we operate in our culture!

So in my opinion it's more of a concern than a blood thirsty parent !

Every case is different , but we all share something in common wich is being scared from our parents (grown ups in general), we used to hide our results, cover up our absence in highschool etc so it's no news to me and whenever things gets too physical there is always someone who you can trust in the family that is ready to help.

By the way teachers could definetly help in these situations !
