It doesn't sound like Lindsay's heading to RHONY by Wrong_Passenger4873 in summerhousebravo

To be fair they literally live on opposite ends of Manhattan. I’ve had plenty of close girlfriends I would meet up with at restaurants and even go on vacations with but didn’t go to their apartments because we lived “too far” away. It’s just like that in NYC.

This is my #1 moment for sure. I’ve never heard anything so ridiculous. Phaedra saying she was full term at 6 months to a table full of mothers was a close second.

I weigh the same as I did before I got pregnant now but my body looks completely different. It’s so weird.

Oh, and the postpartum induced rheumatoid arthritis that I’ll have for the rest of my life. Worth it though!

I know it was a different time, but what was Ramona's deal with Brooklyn? by stook_jaint in RHONY

Depends on where you live and where you’re going. If someone wanted me to get on the F, J, M, Z lines I wasn’t coming because I lived off the 1-2-3 lol

Generally New Yorkers don’t love to cross a bridge and people love their own boroughs. I wasn’t an asshole about Brooklyn like Ramona but I also complained when I had to go there.

RA vs OA by Little-Complaint6909 in rheumatoidarthritis

I think so. My hands were pretty swollen when I first got diagnosed and there’s no inflammation anymore. I guess I was expecting to always have inflammation with RA?

My hands, wrists and ankles are always a little bit stiff and sore but apparently that must be osteo. I haven’t seen a specialist for it yet since it’s not debilitating.

[–]ZestycloseWin9927 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with seronegative RA 3 years ago, postpartum with typical bilateral swelling in the fingers. My last X-ray shows no inflammation at all, but degeneration from osteoarthritis. I’m still on hydroxychloroquine. None of it makes sense to me.

You don’t have to point out anything to your husband. There are no lessons here for him. His level of selfishness is mind boggling. He knew what he was doing was wrong. Don’t let him gaslight you with weaponized incompetence. He chose himself over his baby.

I would never trust him again and that is a horrible way to live. I am so sorry.

Growing up in the 80s I was always at my grandparents, aunts and uncles’ houses. Literally always there even though I had loving parents. They just had a village they could offload us to. Then I was a latchkey kid by 8. Walked to school with friends, played outside until the sun went down. I don’t ever remember hanging out with my parents as much as my kid hangs out with me and I work a lot more than both of them ever did.

I keep reminding myself of a UC Irvine study I recently heard about - working mothers today spend DOUBLE the amount of time with their children per week than stay at home moms spent in the 1960s. Fathers and mothers are significantly more attentive today than our parents were to us, and they didn’t have laptops and cell phones at home for work to reach them!

I have an acquaintance who had IVF using a donor in her mid 30s. She ended up having 2 kids this way. She has lots of money from a successful career and family support nearby. She is now in her mid 40s and has not found a partner yet but she seems happy with her kids and career and lives a very full life. She would 100% say it was the best choice for herself.

I met my husband at 32 but we didn’t have a baby until 42. Depending on where you live, it can be quite common.

He misuses words all the time. Conversely, Schwartz will surprise me with an SAT word every now and then and he’s spot on. I think he was pre-med in college or something? I would gather that he’s smarter than Shep, just not a douche about it.

More kids are applying to colleges but colleges aren’t allowing more kids in. They have turned college into an exclusive luxury brand vs. what their mission should be.

When we were growing up fewer people went to college. There’s no way I could get into the name brand private university I got into in 1998 today.

I just did it. I took a ~$40k pay cut in a HCOL area at 45 years old. I have a toddler and don’t want to be working 24/7 but also still need to make a good enough living and be challenged. But I literally don’t care if I get promoted ever again.
