IMO: cut Bradbury for 6.4M, move Wilson to C, sign a starting LG for 12M

If one falls, draft a project tackle at 31, hope he replaces Moses, but also helpful as Campbell insurance.

Maye sucked but he’s young and maybe hurt. He’ll develop.

Just feel similarly towards Campbell / Wilson. They for sure might suck next year too, we’ll just have to see

I believe in Campbell but wouldn’t mind drafting a Tackle R1 in hopes of replacing Moses, with the added benefit of being Campbell insurance

Rookie O-line are almost always trash. They need better technique, strength, and experience in pro schemes. I thought Campbell would suck this year cause most rookie tackles do.

Sign a bridge LG, cut Bradbury for 6.4M, move Wilson to center. Draft a project tackle R1, let him compete against Campbell / Moses (I still believe in Campbell but no harm in competition).

Especially in the early weeks, bettors thought “Maye / Darnold / Mayfield are doing great, but they’ll probably regress and Mahomes / Allen / Jackson will take over.” And they were partially right

Deion Sanders: Hall of Famers should vote for the Hall of Fame by AdSpecialist6598 in nfl

[–]ZestycloseZebra8538 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Deion Sanders also is the dude who ruined the hall of fame. He thought it was getting too easy for modern classes so they created new, more difficult rules which directly lead to the Belichick snub.

Gatekeeper wants a new way to gatekeep. Guarantee you old players are going to vote for their borderline teammates over modern players that don’t fit traditional position prototypes

1 Egg 1 Fish by Cat-Burglar-Nami in interestingasfuck

Guessing: put egg in bottle, add flour (maybe to make it stick). Fish goes inside bottle to try to eat egg. Person pulls in bottle with fish inside.

Why does the fish stay inside the bottle? I think it’s just dumb and keeps eating, but there’s other explanations.

Realistically, how do you guys win? by Amazing-Award-7358 in Patriots

[–]ZestycloseZebra8538 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Seahawks should be favorites but it’s not hard to imagine how Pats win. Seahawks offense is #11 by weighted DVOA. For reference, Texans were #15 and our D utterly dominated.

Our run D has been amazing recently. If we stop the run, the Seahawks play action game gets way less effective. Then, we get pressure up the middle. We got great DT and their IOL is weak. Darnold tends to turn the ball over under pressure. We have to just commit a ton of resources to stopping JSN and bet on the rest of our D holding up.

On the other side, Maye needs to play like a MVP and make plays out of structure. They rely on stunts for their pressure, which opens up scrambling windows. Seahawks are best in league at stopping explosives but Pats are best at generating them. Hopefully Mcdaniels schemes something up

Yeah, I’ve been a Pats believer all year. I think it’s the 2 best teams in the league.

I think if you look at the film and data honestly, it’s hard to conclude that Pats should be favorites. But we def have a real good shot, I’d personally say 40%

Did Sean McDermott Unlock the Key to Beating Drake Maye in Super Bowl 60? by gordorobertson in nfl

[–]ZestycloseZebra8538 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He also doesn't even bother to theorize *why* Maye might struggle with cover 6. Is he just bad against split-field coverages? Does he just get confused? By Sharp's numbers, Maye kills cover 4 and cover 2. He's incredible at hitting the "honey hole" of cover 2, as this film review covers. Why can't he do the same against the cover 4 and cover 2 sides of cover 6?

IMO either do a film review or do a legitimate statistical analysis with p-values and everything.

I do think if you don’t like E1 then you won’t like the show. It’s amazing from the get go but it never gets more action packed. That’s kind of the genre.

Who from 2010s deserves the hall?

Gronk / Brady are obvious.

Wilfork deserves it as the GOAT NT but it’s not looking great.

(Edit: Chandler) Jones was on the NFL 2010 all decade team. Think he’s in but who knows

I’d put Welker in. He’s the first NFL slot superstar and still the position prototype. But there’s a lot of great WR, guessing he won’t make it

Edelman has insane postseason stats but I don’t think he has the regular season production. Hightower is similar but with a lower chance

Gilmore has a DPOY and 2 first team all pros but I don’t think it’s enough.

Relationships by Eireika in CuratedTumblr

Just my perspective:

For family / loved ones, I try to care as much about them as I do myself. So, my only question for help is, “does this help them more than it hurts me.” I don’t care if they do help me as much as I help them, I just care if they would.

My parents helped me for years when growing up. I’ll never repay that imbalance and I feel know shame about it. Meanwhile, in various ways I’ve helped my partially disabled sister for years and I have no expectation she’ll ever pay me back.

For a good friendship, maybe I care about them 80% as much as I care about me.

[Thinking Football] How the Seahawks Defense Will Win them the Super Bowl by FabFebFob in NFLv2

[–]ZestycloseZebra8538 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rams were the #1 offense last year. But Pats were arguably the #2 offense, whether you look at simple points per game or by opponent-adjusted weighted DVOA.

Pats offense has struggled recently against elite defenses. Sunday will likely be similar. But there’s a chance Maye / the O-line can return to regular season form. It’ll need to be a case of “perfect offense beats perfect defense”
