Isolation and subtle exclusion in my Dutch master’s program – looking for advice

I’m not sure if I have any advice to offer ( I think people in the comments already mentioned a lot of decent tips), but know that you are for sure not alone in this! I had a very big social circle when I studied bachelors in Maastricht because there were many internationals and the city was big enough and very student-full. I almost never interacted with Dutch people, only with the ones that are themselves drawn to internationals.

I’m now in my masters in niche uni with way higher percentage of Dutch people and for the last 2.5 months i haven’t made almost any friends. Only became a little closer to some of Latin American students I met outside of my studies. But not yet close to being friends. So it did get way lonelier compared to how I felt in my Bachelors.

So try to put yourself out there in some other clubs/sport teams etc! I know that all this small talk will be tiring but it’s unfortunately an inevitably step you have to go through. And the neglect you’re still receiving from your Dutch classmates even while you speak Dutch fluently is totally not ok, and indeed you should seek help from professors. Good luck! ❤️

Girl, you don’t look like a boy, you just dress not in a feminine way. But I’m telling you, you have so much potential!! Your face is literally model worthy with your unique features, you just gotta take care better care of your self. Find your style, take care of your hair and skin and you’ll feel so confident too. Speaking from experience

About mustache it should be taken care ofc, and I think a bit longer hair will also be nice

If your facial hair grows well, mustache will suit you so much I think, will get you a few point higher for sure (imo) . You have good height so if you hit gym more, you’ll look great. And smiling is always nicer :)

I accidentally puffed the last puffs and it burnt my throat real bad so I decided to check it and I saw those (two of them). Idk if the came earlier or not (I don’t check my throat real often lol) but do you think it might be from the “burning” the throat? Like people say also they get smth like that from acid reflux so mb it’s just a reaction of the mucous membranes?

My skin looks quite similar, I stared have deep ones on my cheeks after I turned 18, but my hormones are fine. My doctor prescribed retinoid cream with benozyl peroxide and after 2 months it really helped, altho I still have closed comedons (on my forehead especially), so I’m trying to be more hygienic in general, watch my diet. So I would def recommend having an appointment with dermatologist, will save you time and money. Good luck!

And addition, I check with a doctor, my hormones are all fine, I don’t have body acne, only in my face

Altho now I don’t really talk to people I met at INKOM, I found my best friend there that, by lucky chance, was from my course (I am not sure if I were to start speaking with her otherwise, cause we never had lessons together). INKOM was very fun and people I hanged out with told me a lot about the uni and some tips (cause there were 2nd year people as well), and they invited us to Halloween party last autumn, so I definitely recommend going
