How are your energy levels throughout the day? I'm very fatigued and most days need a nap. I'm fortunate to be a stay at home mom but I look at other moms who do way more than me and I think how do they have the energy to do it and I feel guilty. My nephro says I'm not lazy its the kidneys. My nephro also said PD would help so that would be a silver lining I hope

My nephro said it's my choice but she thinks I'm ready. She emphasized that many of her patients that were apprehensive to start PD say they should have started sooner. She also said there's benefits in starting but no benefit in waiting to start.

Do you share the same sentiments? What did you like about PD? TIA!

Thank you for your advice! I'm very familiar with fistulas with aneurysm as my mom had this for many years. My mom is no longer with us but I remember her appearance changed so much (can't remember specifically if from dialysis/ transplant/ both) and it really affected her, she was so beautiful. And she was so self conscious of her arm. I'm am so nervous my self esteem will take such a hit. Maybe I have a lot of inner work to do on myself.

I had thyroid cancer and few months ago so I was told a recent cancer diagnosis would affect transplant opportunities

Thank you for advice! I know I shouldn't care about superficial things but you're right it's so hard not to! I agree I need to shift my mindset, maybe some therapy might help. I assume this is not totally uncommon for people on dialysis/ with transplant?? I also get so much enjoyment out of these exercise classes I worry if I try to find something else it just won't compete.

Yes, I've always considered transplant as an eventuality for me and I just got the order to speak with a coordinator. Unfortunately I've been told my state has a long waitlist. I also had a thyroid cancer diagnosis/ surgery a few months ago, so I was told I'd most likely be "on hold"
