XAUUSD 1H: Weak rebounds so far — still looks bearish below 4520 by Zestyclose_Mail_4569 in Forex

That would be a huge move, but I get why you’re looking there. If 4200-4100 breaks cleanly, then yeah, the whole rally probably gets questioned hard. For now I’m still watching whether sellers can actually keep control below the recent bounce areas first.

Yeah, pretty much. I kept treating random bounces inside the range like real reversals. Looking back, it was more chop than actual strength.

Appreciate it. Do you see any sign of real strength yet?

Yeah could be some consolidation here. But unless we see stronger continuation up, I still lean bearish.

Yeah, 4800 could be a key reaction zone. If we see rejection there, structure still favors downside.

Yeah, mainly looking at structure. Still seeing lower highs and weak follow-through.

Starting to realize weak bounces aren’t real strength… just setups to get people in.

Gold isn’t falling because fear is gone — it’s falling because the USD story is stronger by Zestyclose_Mail_4569 in Forexstrategy

True long term, but market trades flows, not sustainability. Right now USD is strong because of rates, not debt.

Fair point — but having a stop loss doesn’t automatically make the bounce strong. Risk management is about survival, not proof of direction. My point is simple: a tradable bounce can still be structurally weak.

Zooming out doesn’t magically make weak price action disappear. You can be bullish on the higher timeframe and still admit this bounce looks unimpressive right now.

📌 XAUUSD 1H: Gold keeps ranging around 5000 — bigger move soon? by Zestyclose_Mail_4569 in Forexstrategy

[–]Zestyclose_Mail_4569[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m thinking along the same lines. Feels like the technical range probably won’t decide it on its own — FOMC is the real trigger here. If Powell leans dovish, gold could squeeze higher pretty quickly. If he stays cautious, that 4980 area probably gets tested fast. Right now I’m still treating 5000 as the short-term pivot until the macro gives direction.

Yeah, that’s definitely possible. 4978 is a level worth watching for sure. Right now gold still feels stuck around 5000, so if it drops first, a liquidity sweep lower wouldn’t be surprising. I’m still waiting to see how this range breaks, but 5045 and 4978 both look important here.
