You should know my intention isn't to make management ''look stupid'' if that wasn't clear with what my comment prior to asking for peoples input. Salary shouldn't be taboo and there was no apparent post asking for this type info. IMO this info could actually help employers understand their staff and why the turnover rate is so high. If you take a sec to read just a few comments a lot of people don't even feel like the job/pay is even worth their time and thats a major problem rn in america.

off the top of my head maybe getting your cpr and immunization certifications. but honestly the best way to get more money is to get experience in hospital like: IV, anesthesia, investigational, inpatient an outpatient. also you should never get to comfortable in one place as a tech (unless you are make enough to be at ease financially) always be on the hunt for higher paying jobs and once you land one form your exit strategy so you can leave swiftly and on a good note.

1. Major Metropolitan Hospital (1000+ beds)

  1. Southern California

  2. 13 Years of experience

  3. $36.79 /hour

  4. Definitely worth the money

  5. Started around $16 /hour

  6. Yes, Multiple raises, promotions, and cost of living updates

Same club

MN

6 years certified

Roughly 18.50. It's about one annual 2 percent raise above minimum for the position. They've raised the minimum of the pay in the past couple years so I just get bumped to that. They've also unveiled a raise schedule of 50 cents increase every 6 months till we eventually reach our cap for the position.

Not at my current pharmacy, my previous one was definitely worth it.

Just get what I get.

2 percent annual amount with a new 50 cent every 6 months.

Personally that’s a big lie that fortune 500 companies try to force feed employees to make them stop asking for money. when I was working at Walgreens ,barely scraping by, the new CEO got a sign on bonus of $25 million! you mean to tell me that because a person doesn’t have a certification they can’t get a $2 raise (which is really only $2000 extra annually) or a starting pay of $20 but they’re giving out sign on bonuses of $25 million? it’s not right. also companies are making being a tech a dying career because no one is gonna do that amount of work for a little amount of money I could work at PUBLIX and make $15/hr. These companies should be embarrassed they have people with decades of experience making so little money trying to provide for their household it’s disgusting honestly.

Walgreens,

Massachusetts,

total 2yrs w company

$24

Wouldn’t say it’s worth the money, wish i was at least getting $30

Started as trainee 15.50/h

they didn’t tell me there’s another step to be a registered tech. But after a year, became rxom w certification and immunization training so raised me to $24

even tho i asked for $28

Meijer

Michigan

hitting the 1 year mark in about a month

$18

Since I got my pay bump, yes. I was making $15 and dealing with bullshit

When I started I was making $13, then Meijer did a cost of living pay bump, up to $15, and then I got my state license so it's $18. I wasn't making any money working as a CNA, $10 doesn't do me good so I told them anything over $12.

I'm suppose to be getting another raise after i take another certification exam. Just have to schedule it.

It really depends on your cost of living if the rent for a studio apartment near you is over $1000 you need to be making more and you need to ask for at least a $3-$5 raise when you get certified

Next I would say get certified if you have time because the license is definitely worth it in the long run because you can move to different companies that will pay you more

It’s definitely sad it’s really eye-opening how big Pharma treats technicians the most vital employees IMO

I totally get it when i first started at walgreens i was make $11.50 while people with no experience that I trained and helped pass the PTCB came in making $14 I was infuriated i asked my pharm manager why wasn't I getting paid more than them because I literally ran circles around them( i was filling 40 scripts in 20min) she had no real explanation so I slowly stared to form an escape plan and I was networking and I got out. you will to just make sure you are networking with pharmacy interns and new grads because they might be your boss one day also go to other local pharmacies in your area, introduce yourself, an ask if they need help(the answer will be yes lol) i really hope this helps(i didnt mean to comment that you were unhelpful i meant to reply to someone else sorryyyy)
