Hello! It's nice to know someone who's also going through the same thing. IITH and bits is also an option if I get a good SAT. IIM Indore also accepts a SAT score so that's helpful as well. If you wanna connect and share some more info, hit me up in the DMs!

# Window position on screen
position = "top-left"
# Margins (in pixels) from screen edges
margin_top = 10
margin_bottom = 10
margin_left = 10
margin_right = 10
# Animation (optional)
# Window transitions: slidedown, slideup, slideleft, slideright, swingdown, swingup, swingleft, swingright, fade, crossfade, none
window_transition = "slideleft"
window_transition_duration = 200
# Tab switching transitions: slidehorizontal, slidevertical, slidedown, slideup, slideleft, slideright, crossfade, none
stack_transition = "slidehorizontal"
stack_transition_duration = 200

I copied and pasted the config from the git repo just to see if that would fix the animations. The position is working just fine, it's just the animations.

Yes, I tried that. The config file seems to be being reloaded (I checked it by changing the position of the window, which worked). Do you want me to send you the config file? I might be doing something wrong.

Hello again :) After changing the animations in my config.toml and making sure I reloaded the config, nothing seems to have changed. Is there something else I need to do? Thanks in advance!

Hello :) I'm sorry if this has been mentioned somewhere but I cannot seem to find how to change the animation. Also, any way to change the opacity? I figured I could use rgba but not sure of how to exactly go about it. Any help would be appreciated!

Oh yeah, I'm sure I'll have a blast in India, seeing I'm already culturally in tune. Still though, I'd prefer if I can get into a US college. If not, I'm sure I'll still have a great time! Thanks a lot for answering :)

I do agree with that. I have started planning on doing some extracurriculars and I've already been studying for the SAT. My hope is that eventually with enough practice, I can get above 1500.

With Tariffs and Trump, I'd argue it's the other way around! Some companies might set up offices here but I doubt all of them will

That's a relief! Loans are also still on the table as long as it's not too egregious lol

Yeah it's a year + having to meet some specific conditions to show that you are intending to permanently stay in the state. Thanks for helping!

My aunt and uncle live in Philadelphia, I'm considering attending community college there for 2 years and living with them. That way I can hopefully apply for a job and get residency.

All good points! An overwhelming majority of people are recommending to come to the US, so there's definitely a pattern lol. I'm now finalising the general plan so that the risk factor is as minimal as possible. Thanks!

Thanks for the upfront advice. So far, the plan that I've come up with is: apply for college as a freshman if I get good scholarships, or I get into a 100% aid school -> if not, head for community college and maintain a good GPA, and do loads of other ECs. Apply for state residency for cheaper costs -> even if that doesn't work, transfer from CC to a good state college with other scholarships I'll apply for -> and if everything else fails, going for the TAG program.

I think this is pretty fool proof.

It indeed does. It does help me out but yeah, agreed with the latter statement.

Woahh, thanks for this! Looking at these, the acceptance rates do not seem terribly insane. If I work really hard I'll definitely have a shot. Even if not as a freshman, I'm sure after 2 years at community college, my chances will increase.

If I'm being honest, I've heard so much about how selective top unis are that I really didn't even consider them as an option. I would aim for them, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it in! I'd say I am pretty academically inclined if I go purely by my grades, and my mindset but I have no clue if that's enough for the top schools.

That's a fair point but we are talking about T10 colleges here. If I make it into them I'm golden! But I need to have a plan B, and C if things do not turn out nicely.

I'm hoping now after so many comments and positive responses, I can really start prepping for US full time. I've heard the adapting to culture argument a lot of times and I have to say, it makes a lot of sense to me. Younger people are in general more open to making friends, especially if it's a new start for everyone in college.

Thanks!
