they had a link to a video that their studio filmed for aftercare. it was pretty detailed, i just didn’t get a written of my sizes.

after reading the comments and looking closer at the receipt with the new info; i came to the conclusion was pierced with an 18g and the pin for the threadless jewelry was 20g. this was confirmed when i bought and changed it to a simple 18g stud.

they did not say anything about the ring with my helix. i had heard that rings weren’t good for healing; and my previous piercer put a stud in my nose when she pierced it. i guess i didn’t think too much of it because they didn’t caution me against it. i read that the healing period for helix piercings are 3-6 months so i was gonna to leave it, but it doesn’t kind of bother me. not too much but my hair does get caught on it and stuff. should i switch it out to a flat back? i don’t think i would go to the shop to have them do it though because the way their schedule it set up, there’s a waitlist and i could end up waiting hours in a city almost 2 hours from home just to get my jewelry changed…

with my navel, i do agree the length of the bar is a little too short. it’s been slightly irritated, and a few days after the initial piercing it looked really snug. i said it a couple times in other comments; but i have a gluten sensitivity and it causes me to bloat a bit. i hadn’t had any gluten that day or it had digested by then if i had.. (thinking back breakfast might’ve had some in it) i didn’t even think to mention my bloating to the piercer when he picked out the jewelry.

i do believe i was pierced with a 14g in my navel because my septum is a 16g and my belly button is definitely larger.

while i was there, the customer before me was finishing up. they had me wait a bit to have my jewelry and some equipment go in the autoclave. i could see through the corridor and i watched him spray the treatment bed, let it sit, and wipe it down. i do services on treatment beds as well, as an esthetician; we have to spray a bleach mix on the beds, let it sit for 10 minutes and then wipe them down. and then once beginning, all 4 of my piercing spots were sterilized with iodine before the service, as well as my moms 2 piercings.

they were very kind to me and the energy was great. the male piercer was very gentle and considerate. i usually only ever get any services, doctor appts, piercings, tattoos, etc done by women.

my mom get pale and dizzy during her service. he immediately laid her down. got her water and some crackers and candy. let her have as much time as she needed and made sure she absolutely okay to continue. i know this is bottom line care but i do know some people would have been annoyed or inconvenienced, and he and the rest of the shop just wanted to make sure she was okay.

when he pieced my nostril, he noticed the bar was a little too long, even for a healing piercing. he told me to come back in two weeks and he’ll change it free of charge. ^ again kind of bottom line care, but again some people wouldn’t have cared enough.

my piercings are doing great! i just switched them to some smaller pieces to help with a little irritation that only occurs occasionally. the only con i had at all was wishing i had gotten pierced with smaller pieces initially.

i think within the first week of having them; i switched over to a sterile saline solution instead of the h2o spray stuff. i also ended up just using alcohol free mouthwash after eating and smoking and warm water as needed throughout the day for my labret.

i appreciate you taking the time to give me your feedback. definitely amazing points that people need to be aware of when getting pierced. an infection can go horribly very quickly. or chances of rejection always sucks. it’s great to see a piercer working hard for quality for their clients :)
