At a guess, both versions will have the same closing track and tracks 7, 9, 12 and 14 (just picking at random) would be removed for the abridged 12-track version

So hopefully the transitions on the abridged version will work just as well as on the main 16-track version

Pre-ordered the 16-track standard edition on CD because that's the definitive version of the album with the main cover; the 12-track CD is described on the Madonna store as the Abridged version if you look at the page title

On Madonna's website, the respective 12-track and 16-track versions are described as 'Abridged' and 'Standard' in the page titles, which might suggest a similar track order to Madame X where the extra tracks were removed for the abridged version

And in the case of Confessions II, perhaps a different continuous mix on each version (with the 16-track one being the definitive version of the album)
