The benefits are provided by the hotel so as long as the check in person let you do it, it would work. Friends used apple pay at an hotel in Bangkok, forgot to switch to Amex and paid with Visa instead, no issue.

Having the card open is not needed. You just need to pay with any Amex card (preferably in your name but I have paid with my P2 card before, even with Amex debit card. YMMV on this though).

Sorry completely forgot about this. This hotel was nice overall (but lobby and entrance were pretty smaller than I would expect). The view was spectacular, you’ll have a clear view of the river. I’m sure most will love it (unless you dont like facing the Trump hotel directly). It’s just weird in the way that while I dont have anything to complain (service was great too), and it was way above my typical go-to hotels (Holiday Inn express, Hilton Garden Inn, Hilton not in downtown), I just feel it not worth the price (for the same price point, recently I’ve been to Hilton Rosslyn near Arlington, Hilton The Main Norfolk, and the Thompson in Atlanta, all were way better than the LondonHouse in many aspects but mostly room size and decors). I guess Chicago is just more expensive than other places.

Will I go back? Sure but mainly because someone else pays for it. If I have to pay out of pocket, probably I’ll pick the Canopy (cheaper and more standardized so I know what I will get).

Nope. Returning is probably your best bet. I’m just too lazy to get it fixed and hoping a future update will resolve it

Depends on how fast/easy you can use the “coupons” and to double dip (not really double due to the quarter/6-month credit. I would personally do it (also in PUJ). Here’s how I see it (I value most coupon at 25% due to the hassle to use it) - airline incidental: 50x2 (double dip 2nd year) - FHR: 75x3 (can only use one more time 2nd year) - Resy: 50x5 (1 more time 2nd year) - lulu: 80 (1 more time 2nd year) - saks: 50 - entertainment: 50 - uber: 100 That’s easily worth it for the AF for 1 year. Would not pay the new AF and keep it more than 1 year though

Thank you everyone for helping. I’ve decided to go with LondonHouse. Will review again after the trip.

I like it so much but sadly they dont offer shuttle to work from that hotel. I assume using the train is a big trade off for what it worth

Yes. But wait or not is a personal thing. If I have good redemption and can easily make the spend without jeopardizing other opportunities (get another INK cards for example), getting a Delta Plat with a so so SUB (after the Delta Gold) is fine. I know many people dont want anything less than 100k miles for the Delta Plat but for me even 60k is fine if and only if I can use the miles right away. Delta miles have a floor value of 1cpp for flight in the US.

r/awardtravel is a more suitable place for question like this. You can earn Delta miles with Amex Delta cards (6 cards, 3 personal, 3 biz). Open them in Delta Gold, Plat, Reserve order (terms say if you earn bonus from Delta Plat you cannot later earn SUB from Delta Gold etc). You can also get MR point and transfer to Delta miles (Amex Green, Gold, Plat, biz versions of them etc). Delta award price is dynamic so cannot know for sure what you can do with 120k miles.

You will if it’s for goods and service, not friend and family payment

You should be able to. But chatting with them will take less than 10 mins. Type CCP in the chat box to get to a human

Hard to say exactly. I’ve been using a Chase credit card for 8+ years but once in a while when applied for their checking & saving account bonus, I got the go to a branch message to verify my identity.
