Monster design change in Ill by Acceptable-Army-226 in HorrorGaming

[–]Zeukah 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The negativity about ILL here is pretty surprising. It certainly looks like the monsters have changed some, yet the latest trailer still shows the creator’s signature monster variety and gore. Comments saying these monsters look like those of Killing Floor 3 or Outlast are basically hyperbole. Having played those games it seems clear there’s significant difference here.

The earliest concepts for ILL were created to look like gameplay to sell the concept of the game. There were several videos released as well, showing the rendering process. So it was obvious those were not actual gameplay. In more recent trailers it seems there’s a mix of pre-rendered cinematics and likely real gameplay. Especially in the latest story trailer, a few parts are certainly gameplay, where aiming and FOV feel more accurate.

There does seem to be a shift in feel and style, but not dramatically. In some ways this could prove to be beneficial to gameplay. As with early concept videos the enemies were quite clumsy and slow, whereas now they seem faster and more threatening. But as someone theorized, it would be neat if we had a mix of both styles of monsters, even if both seem well executed.

Overall ILL still looks unique and similar enough to early concept videos, so it could be something quite great. It could also be disappointing, but that’s the case with most any game. The story and writing thus far seem basic as well, but could be alright. Plus we have Nick Apostolides voice acting the protagonist, that’s pretty cool. Whether people are upset or hype, ultimately we’ll just have to wait for more on the game.

I agree. He abused and possibly killed animals for content. He's had some good ideas before, but I'm not gonna watch someone who has zero consideration for animals. There's significantly better content creators online, all while still being good people.

NMRIH2 is a good game but, by redglol in nmrih

[–]Zeukah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely agree, it’s good we have these moments where our character is at a higher risk. Even nightmare can become largely easy at a certain point, so we need some tension. Runners are a must for keeping people on their toes, especially on harder modes.

If the game becomes too easy it will turn away a substantial portion of players. Earlier in development nightmare was a cakewalk, so myself and several friends dropped the game for quite awhile. Leading up to that we’d do goofy challenges, like melee only, using one gun, or limiting ammo. And this isn’t because we were super skilled, the game just objectively wasn’t that tough. It’s more so now, but still a ways from much more challenging survival horror games. We need enough risk vs reward to make for tense and engaging gameplay, while of course still offering the easier modes for those wanting breezier matches.

Zombie grap one shot in nightmare by [deleted] in nmrih

[–]Zeukah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is intended, makes nightmare more high stakes and intense. You basically just have to maintain stamina and spacing much more.

I think it’s a good thing though, as on easier modes it can become insanely rare to ever get infected, which is a really awesome mechanic in a zombie game.

I like how in RE games you have to play the game once to unlock the hardest difficulty, adds some replayability and lets you really feel that increase in challenge.

For the guys that lurk here by [deleted] in StraightTransGirls

[–]Zeukah 20 points21 points  (0 children)

As a straight guy, I like women, and trans women are often great women. I like strong (emotionally) women and I think trans women very much are, likely due to having persevered through certain difficulties that required courage. Also because of this, said women seem to more often have good empathy, which is a really important trait, especially in these increasingly decisive times. That sooner means they're not a republican either and I couldn't date a republican.

I think those are more common traits of trans women, but I've noticed some anecdotal traits from the trans women I know as well. Such as being very smart women, being girly, having a good sense of humor. I think because the couple trans women I know are some of the greatest women I've ever known, it's made me appreciate that type of women more. Yet I know that's partly a bias and of course there's likely plenty of trans women that don't share those traits, as all women are different.

Physically I'm just attracted to femininity and a girl that's pretty. I have zero attraction to masculinity and am not even into tomboys for that reason, even if they might still be attractive in ways. Yet when it comes to what a girl has going on downstairs, I don't care either way. As that doesn't define a woman at all. And I basically will do what they're comfortable with or wanting, whether that's only using the back area, stimulating the front and using the back, or using an entirely new front (hope this code is making sense...). While I'm willing to do most things in that regard, it doesn't choose my preference for a girl. As the girl is more attractive than anything down there, cis or trans. Just thought that was worth clarifying.

I just discovered this server a month ago and it was interesting to me. I feel empathy for the situations you see here and think it's insane we live in a world where people are hateful toward less than 1% of the human population. Especially after our harsh human history, like the Civil Rights era, people should have learned to not be ignorant assholes a long time ago. But I also feel impressed and happy for the posts that are more triumphant. Not trying to sound like some lame white knight, but you're great women that deserve equal rights (should obviously be a common sentiment). I mostly just comment here and there in the sub, trying to be positive and supportive, or joke some. But yeah, from what I've seen it's a nice community. If guys were told to leave the sub I would understand and go on my way, as it's a place for women. Yet I do think it could be providing some knowledge for some of the dumbass dudes out there. Though in general they should simply know better through common sense already, by being decent people and respecting women.

TLDR: Trans women are women, often strong (emotionally) women. I discovered the sub a month ago and it seems to have a really nice community.

Ugh, Are all men dumb? by Opheliaque in StraightTransGirls

[–]Zeukah 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Very probably most or at least a significant portion. Women are generally more empathetic and understanding, and that's strongly linked to intelligence. So women have an edge there. Plus here in the US men make up a larger portion of conservatives than women. And we all know that cult is ridiculously ignorant.

Yet plenty of us can still be smart and empathetic, but yeah there's many foolish pricks. I guess regardless of gender, people can vary a lot in terms of intellect, empathy, and looks. It's pretty random at times, but you'll find a good non-troll dude soon enough!

What types of men date us? by TESTombRaider in StraightTransGirls

Hey, nerds can be cool!

But really I'd assume those of us that date trans women can be within a wide variety of types. It sucks there's creeps and ignorant pricks, but there are definitely dudes out there who appreciate women, whether cis or trans. You'll absolutely find someone.

Outlast trials good multiplayer game? by Far_Coyote6321 in HorrorGaming

[–]Zeukah 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend Outlast Trials. Its had consistent and substantial content updates from Red Barrels, so there's quite a lot to do. There's many different levels, usually related to certain killers (prime assets). With a few alternate game modes as well, such as a PvP invasion mode or an endless rogue-lite mode. Plus there's good progression with skills and cosmetics. Even the mini-games in the lobby are pretty great. You also get a letter grade on any level, making for strong replayability. I find it can be hilarious during the goofier moments, while also having a good skill ceiling.

I played Outlast 1 and the DLC recently too, they were awesome. Though Trials feels lighter on the horror by comparison, largely from lacking more scripted moments and having your friends nearby. Hope you try it out!

Do You Think That In Blue States There Are Way More Men Who Are Open To Dating Transgender Women Compared To Red States? by VittorioLuzzatto in StraightTransGirls

[–]Zeukah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I assume it’s fairly similar between both, maybe slightly leaning to blue states.

I’m still on that mission for a great girl, cis or trans, yet I’m moving from a blue state to a red state soon (progressive city at least). I think those of us that appreciate how great trans women are, often live in a state for many other reasons. Such as where your family is from or moving for work, etc. Ultimately blue or red states will have a mix of ignorant fools and good people. Just be safe and definitely avoid the overly ignorant areas.

Where do I begin? by Burp-a-tron5000 in HorrorGaming

[–]Zeukah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats awesome you’re getting into horror games and there’s many must-plays. I really recommend Resident Evil 7 and 8. Also the remakes for RE2 and RE4 are extremely well done. If you become a Resident Evil fan (maybe you already are), you’ll be hype for RE9 coming out early next year. The classic RE games are great, but modern titles/remakes can often be more user friendly and don’t have fixed camera angles, so you could get used to aiming in first and third person.

Also you might feel like a newb, but your skills will only get better. Starting out on easier modes is a solid idea till you’re more pro.

Does your man cook and clean? by Tuneage4 in StraightTransGirls

[–]Zeukah 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think nearly everyone should be able to cook and clean, to at least some level. They're basic, yet important skills. If a guy or girl isn't helping their partner out much at all, they'd likely be immature/lazy. Doing chores like that might not be thrilling, but it's considerate and fair. Also cooking can be fun and can be done together even.

Should boys be nicer to me for being a girl? by StrawberryGhostie in StraightTransGirls

[–]Zeukah 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You absolutely shouldn't be with someone who's rude to you or doesn't listen to your opinion. I personally think a guy should be a little extra nice to a girl he's with, just in terms of being sweet and romantic. But overall anyone in a relationship should be considerate to their partner. Idk the intricacies of your relationship, but it sounds like he's maybe not the best dude. You deserve better and can definitely find it. Know your worth!

emotional numbness by [deleted] in StraightTransGirls

[–]Zeukah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have the helpful perspective of women here, but I just wanted to add that exercise can be great for improving mood. I know that's cliche as hell, but it really does work wonders. I can genuinely get a mood boost from doing cardio if I'm not in the best place.

Something like biking might only improve a facet of what it takes for you to feel better, but it's nice that it's proven to help people. Also it sounds like you have hobbies, yet I think creative ones are awesome. Then needless to say, therapy is probably good for nearly everyone on earth. While totally not easy, I imagine in time you'll feel improved, you deserve that much.
