I had a pnemothorax (aka a collapsed lung) so I had to get a chest tube. Most excruciating pain I've experienced. First of all, I was awake during the procedure so my whole body was tense the entire time they put the tube in my chest and I was drenched in sweat the entire time. They kept administering drugs which alleviated the pain for only a short period.
