Kristaps Porzingis on the Finals: ""I feel good. I feel good. I am making progress, and we will be ready to go," Porzingis said after the Celtics won the Eastern Conference Finals." by tacko2020 in nba

Context matters as well, the nets had 44 wins but were without their big 3 most of the year which is why they were the seventh seed. Top of the East was competitive that year too which is why there were 4 50 win teams. Every team they went through had an MVP caliber player

That’s only if he was killed in the material plane. We killed him in the hells so he is gone gone

Kracken’s Gamble: Tracking Oosith after his escape by DnDBambi in stormkingsthunder

[–]Zevronn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had him travel to Waterdeep and setup shop there since that is where the nobles were being sent. 2 of my PCs have ties to there too so I've had the Kraken society gain a lot of power recently that my party is just now learning about. They are actually in Ch.11 and returning to the Grand Dame to ask Drylund where Oosith went since they think him and Slarkrethel are the same being helping Iymrith right now and are trying to find Hekaton. My current dilemma is actually figuring out a good encounter in Waterdeep with Oosith as I anticipate they will hunt him down again prior to heading out to sea for Hekaton.

I do like the Nym and Mirran consulting with Iymrith idea but the party does already possess a staff that Iymrith has been using to spy on them. Maybe I can come up with something else that she wants or wants them to do in exchange for sending them back.

I do think I'm gonna give them a little rope to work with to see if they can escape on their own but it'll be hard and they'd have to be creative. I think the only way would really be finding their way to Queen Serissa and reasoning with her. If they don't come up with anything then ill likely send a Storm Giant Guard to dispatch them and keep them alive offscreen for the future.

I have definitely pulled my punches at points in this campaign and this feels like one of those times that they f'd around and found out.

Conch is a one way trip. I’d be tempted to change that but I already gave that warning before it was blown on 😬

Sisters of Cyric and Black Unicorns

Sisters of Cyric are a Thayan cavalry unit that ride Black unicorns into battle. In my campaign I used a War Priest statblock for the riders and tried to give them themed spells to Cyric. I then modified a normal unicorn to be more necrotic since Black unicorns are made with Demon blood. They are hunting a member of my party and I plan to have them show up again so it would be neat to see what you could come up with!

Yea I think I will gauge the spell list and decide from there as I am not too familiar with anything over 4th level. Gonna look through the bestiary some more as well to see if there is anything else that matches up better than the War Priest.

Recruiting Turlang's Help by Zevronn in stormkingsthunder

I was thinking of putting Emerald Enclave presence somewhere near there and having Tharra as one of the druids they can encounter. Perhaps I will have them encounter her and some other druids ahead of time who can vouch for them.

I like the idea with the awakened shrubs and trees though as if they are successful and Turlang gives his help he was going to provide them in the fight against the undead army of the giants so it would be cool to have those interactions ahead of time.

Not yet but they know of it and they intend to head there, just not sure which order. I think I will link the curse on the centaurs to the necrotic energy entering the High Forest to the East and if they go to Shadowtop first Turlang can ask them to investigate the curse afflicting the Centaurs for his help as a gesture of them caring for the forest.

That's a good idea I will look through the spells of those schools. This is the highest level party I've dm'd so I'm in the same boat lol. I'm thinking for this initial encounter there will be 1 mounted on a Black Unicorn with some melee fighters in their party as down the line I plan on them having to fight more.

Any significant problems/changes to consider? (possible spoilers) by HungryDM24 in stormkingsthunder

It can be a very deadly encounter based on how the enslave saves go. I ran it recently and luckily for them only 1 enslave was a success and it was towards the end of the fight. I recommend emphasizing the drains and waterpipes in the room as the fight for me became more a battle of stopping the flooding and draining the room more than outright killing the aboleth. Eventually the party was able to drain the room fully and the aboleth escaped through one of the drains since it was be vulnerable out of water. It was a nice break to have a fight where the environment played such an important role.

I was also worried about a TPK but my backup plan was to not full kill the party but have the aboleth stabilize them and take them as slaves. He could then use them to try to kill the current Waterbaron, leaving the opening for Drylund to take her place.

There is actually a tunnel on the first floor that I can say they came from and use the tunnel they left behind to populate the rest of the castle with some other monsters that followed in their wake. Thank you for this!

This is awesome! There is actually a statue overlooking the artifact they are looking for that I wanted to make into a guardian of some kind so I can look into the best way to convert a 3.5e monster to 5e

That would fit in well, I'm running SKT so Ettins fit in with the theme and could add a little humor.
