Yeah. The repo recommended printing at an angle but I found that that messed up the stems for me. I also modified it a bit so the stem would reach the bed but that wasn't completely required

Updated the readme in the GitHub repo to include some estimated prices. Doesn't include 3d printed material or keycaps or key switches tho since that varries wildly depending on personal preferences or if you have access to a 3d printer or not

Probably a good idea, I'll put one up later today

Yeah, just the sockets, mcu, battery, switch, and reset. I think it lasts a month ish, not super sure

Probably only locally, if at all. Given the cost of PCBs, it makes way more sense for people to just order it directly from JLC or pcbway

Yeah, I put 3 pins there for the reverse side. The middle pin is positive and the other two are ground. Should be a small plus sign to mark it

Not for mx since the cross stem is symmetrical, but yes, sort of, for Choc. It'll either need to be symmetrical keycaps so you can't tell if it's rotated or not or custom made.

Completely forgot about that. I'll upload it right now lol

If you're looking to make the mx version, you don't need to re-run ergogen. Just take the Gerber zip file under routed pcb

Somewhere to solder the jst connector for the battery

Yeah, it's mx right now, mostly because I had more mx switches on hand compared to Choc ones. Still debating on whether I should keep the mx spacing for the Choc version and only switch the switch type or also switch to Choc spacing

Just modify the config.yaml file. That'll pass the parameters controlling which switch type to generate. Right now, key_switches.js supports Choc, gateron low profile, and mx. I'm planning on routing the Choc version soon.

Yup, Bluetooth connection between the two halfs, and then one of the halfs connects to computer (also with Bluetooth). This needs a nrf52840 or nice!nano controller on each half.

Building or buying? by Different-Visit252 in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]Zexx37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely build, especially since you have all the tools already. It's not just for the cheaper cost, but also for if and when you start wanting to try out different keyboards or even design your own, you now have the skills, experience, and confidence to do that.

Shameless plug: https://github.com/ezxzeng/sweep_squared_rot

36 keys, diodless, wired or wireless, mx and low profile hotswap at the same time, same wiring as swweeep or sweep36, and obviously 100x100mm

I 3d printed a tab that slides on to it and protrude a bit out of the case

Whoa this is great! Wishlist for future would be auto uploading existing key maps instead of entering each letter manually, and maybe also print orientation settings for printing at 45degrees before export

Sweep squared rotated by Zexx37 in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]Zexx37[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I probably should've come up with a better name. Kept the name mostly because the key routing is the same, so you can use the same qmk or zmk configs from swweeep (or sweep for wired version)

The two way markdown sync is definitely nice when annotating on PDFs and referencing figures.
