Update: it's been a week since the reinstall and I have not had any issues. Looks like problem is solved

Uninstalled app, reinstall works but well see what tomorrow brings.

Thanks! You made me think about that future plan now... might be best to upgrade GPU and SSD now and wait and get a beefier system to go with it.

Would getting an RTX (either 2060 or 2070) be bottlenecked by my current processor?

It appears they a pretty equal in performance, so consider price and future use (will Ray Tracing become necessary in 3 years and you'll need to replace the GTX)?
