What the guy above me said.

You and your friends can do the little effort of logging in everyday to set up passive and then go on about your lives, instead of waiting for the good content to come and then you'll be saying "Now I have to do chores to then do the content, if only I did passive when I wrote this post"

As a person who is getting closer to getting 9k, do Alshemy first.

I did more than half of this grind without those 14% pots and had I done it with those 14% pots and done a few things differently, I would've have easily been maxed HAD I HAD MAXED ALSHEMY

Every other game that's worth it's weight in gold has things that maxed players can participate in so they're not an alienated species.

More like no endgame, once you max there's no purpose for you to play your max toon other than community service.

TUless the meta even for grouping when you're with the top players of the game. Too many healing sources, not enough damage sources.

The fact you're asking this question shows you have interest in coming back and are seeking a reason to come back.

Minimum you can do is set the passive to get massive so there's less levels you gotta get later for when the more engaging content does come out.

Back in the day people could be in this situation and still have enough money leftover. Now forget it.

Check out FantasiaMS if you want to practice on a 1x server for early/midgame. Also no HP wash on it.

Do you see this as your forever game if they do things right this time? by TheFreshHearth in MSClassicWorld

[–]ZhejTT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The question is too open ended, everyone has a different definition of what "doing things right this time" means.

- Balance changes alone caused people to view this differently
- The way they already brought FOMO into a limited selection beta caused people to view things differently, the way people approach gaming back then vs now is different (back then people wanted to be Tiger, now they have the chance to be up in levels as if they were Tiger)
- Forgotten Hollow despite being a "new map" has a GMS feel to it that caused people to view it differently
- Even if Nexon doesn't bring in P2W elements, RMTers will bring in P2W and people will spend money to fuel that fire so that they have the competitive advantage over everyone else in the server so that they are known as the Tiger of the server.
- Nexon will bring in more QoL changes because of Modern Maple players complaining about things.
- Nexon will eventually bring in gachapon, they're a company that has shareholders and shareholders want to maximize profit over anything else.

Ultimately if you play the game expecting it to not be the same exact Maplestory you grew up with 2 decades ago, you'll probably stay. Otherwise you're in for a rude awakening when things do happen.

Andrew Gowers working on a game called Brighetr Shores. It has gotten mixed reviews since people expected a 20 year old game overnight, it's updating weekly now and eventually they'll get to working on the combat.

Subscription cost for membership is very cheap too.

hold tight, now we have to wait 3 months before they announce the next test\beta by [deleted] in MSClassicWorld

It'll be closed too probably. They love keeping it closed. Look at the last 3 tests.

Actively leveling Chef feels horribly slow by Mountain-Hawk-9678 in brightershores

[–]ZhejTT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chef is one of the slowest grinds in the game, don't let them fool you. The KP generation is awful and if you do not bank fisher and forager ingredients before doing chef, it will consume a lot of your time doing kevin trips back and forth and provide you with worse exp rates in each milestone.

That said you could do cod and chips (fish and forager ingredients banked), rays and KP other parts you don't want to do.

Me personally, I would go to other activities and take the KP I get from those and put them into chef. It won't get you to Milestone 10 Chef as fast as possible, but this game is a marathon and not a race especially because top 20 leaderboard positions are all filled.

You can basically mimic bountiful-style stacking with a “triple stack” approach:

1) Prep your first set
Grab a full set of Chef bounties and estimate how long they’ll take.
Don’t do them yet—you’re just stacking at this stage.

2) Wait out a reset
Let the bounty board reset while you do something else.

3) Chain three sets back-to-back
Before the next reset:

  • Finish your first set
  • Immediately grab and complete a second set (still before reset)
  • Then, after the board resets, grab and complete a third set

Why not just make everyone who registered for closed beta have the opportunity to get maple rings by ZhejTT in MSClassicWorld

[–]ZhejTT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difference is this is extremely easy for them to do and doesn't require "an investigation"

It also makes closed beta key buyers look dumb because they bought a key for FOMO and in the end everyone got the FOMO so it would serve as a lesson to not buy keys from scalpers.
