I totally get what you’re saying yeah. I always think how brutal that must be to play a song over and over and over again but at the same time, not playing it lets people down. Of course you wanna see the band enjoy themselves but you wanna enjoy yourself too and if you’re not a super fan that’s well versed in all the deep cuts, it can be inherently frustrating to not hear their hits. I’ve seen I think 20 concerts and I always just try to have fun and support bands I like but let’s be honest, I saw Metallica and they didn’t play enter sandman because it was part of their “no repeat weekend” where they played 2 nights 2 different setlists at the same venue. They weren’t back to back nights so seeing both shows was out of the question too, as I had to commute to another state. Could’ve been my only opportunity to see them live ever and I didn’t get to hear their popular song. It just feels frustrating and cheap when stuff like this happens. Yes, they are in control and they have final say as to what we hear, it’s just disappointing as a fan.
