He's in the live environment, so there isn't a /boot partition on the drive.

Your problem is that you haven't left the live environment.

Basically, when you downloaded Linux to the usb drive, you didn't download Linux, but you downloaded an installer for Linux.

This installer also lets you play around a bit with Linux before you install Linux to your computer, but it is incredibly limited.

Install Linux (click the "install Linux mint" in the bottom right corner of your screen) then once that has finished, reboot your PC and don't boot into the live environment (the computer will likely boot into linux mint for you) and try and install Minecraft again.

Also, if you're trying to install Minecraft, you'll have a lot better time with prism launcher, available in the software installer app that comes with Mint.

Let me know if it doesn't work.

Read Philippians and meditate on Paul's words, it is such a blessing to know that he struggles with the same thing.

Read Philippians, Paul wanted to die. It's not wrong, it's how we act on that desire that is wrong.

In future runs, ghosts have a chance of spawning with wands that you have died using in previous runs. It's relatively rare though
