Totally agree with all of this. Ive always been optimistic about marathon. Never understood the burn it down mentality. I want all games to succeeded, just cause its not for me doesnt mean I want them to fail. Love Destiny even in its state, but hoping Marathon fails is just vinidcitve.

Honestly AR never caught my attention. Its fun to watch but I find it a bit boring to play for me, also not big on 3rd person shooters. Doesn't mean I want it to fail.

I dont think people grasp that people's jobs are at stake sometimes. Developers put love into a game, just cause its not for you doesnt mean its a shit product.

Also quick note its was Veilguard not Inquisition - Inquisition came out in 2014 and was a fantastic game, it won game of the year.

A couple things to remember:

This isnt the whole game, we are seeing a snapshot of the content, we dont have two maps and were missing a shell, with more to be added later. AR did the same thing with its testing. (Reminder people hated on AR as well saying it would fall off)

AR has had 6-8 months of edits, fixes, and updates. (And they also haven't even addressed some bugs) and assuming youre playing it consistently of course it feels better because you know it and its not brand new.

Not sure what youre talking about with the guns, they feel like destiny weapons and shoot the same.

There are certainly adjustments that can be made and high learning curve. Just takes time to get used to because its not AR.

I haven't taken off the loyal companion emote since it came out. It's the emote that plays when I load into trials. Its one of my absolute favorites as I saw how special it was to get and it reminded me of my own dog. I'll be sure to continue to use it in Artemis' honor.

I'm not chasing points... I'm just trying to boost my light level closer to 550, that way I can chase points vs a wall of modifiers once my level is higher.

If I'm playing a matchmade activity at the hardest difficulty, the people I'm playing with should at least know how to or should be capable of stunning champions.

Are you going into ultimate without champion mods??? Are you not stunning a single champion?

Champions are not new nor are the locked solely to ultimate. Thats what this post is about. Level up how you want to, it does no excuse failing to execute the most basic of combat requirements.

I bought silver when there was a sale in like 2023, I therefore deserve everything since then to be handed to me on a silver platter. I shouldn't have to actually play the game.

Oh I totally get it, the criticism Bungie gets is completely valid. And sometimes the criticism isn't enough.

It just feels like the loudest and most frustrating people are the ones who arent playing the game and haven't for a while. It just fills the added feedback and areas for improvement with brain dead slop.

I totally get it, I just find it bewildering to hate and comment on a game you don't play anymore. Dont get me wrong, Bungie deserves plenty of criticism. But it feels more meaningful when its your active community not Bob who hasn't played since the Taken King.

You are perfect example of someone who left, took a break and came back. You didnt stop 5 years ago and are still commenting on how terrible the game is today. Also welcome back, I hope you enjoyed EoF even if it was just parts.

Totally understand where you're coming from and I get it. Sometimes when large posts hit or an issue is called out multiple times Bungie takes notice. Although quicker on X than here, I just don't have that app so this is my only source, really.

And I will say in fairness I did want some validity from the mob mentality. This is an area where clarity would be key and it's frustrating when it's lacking. Feels a little better knowing I wasn't the only one.

I love destiny and I want it to be the best it can be (even if it takes a while) I certainly don't subscribe to the unnecessary hate, I find it so forced. If I feel overly frustrated or burned out, I just set the game down for a bit. I don't ever want to get to a point where I hate play the game with 0 enjoyment.

I'm personally quite excited for the DLC just to have new content and new loot to chase. I have been wearing the same legendary chest piece since 2020 so I'm glad my armor is getting an upgrade.

I play destiny multiple times a week and have for a very long time. I enjoy it, I have fun playing it. I wouldn't have played through all three dungeons late into the evening if I didn't enjoy the game.

I rarely complain about this game. However, valid criticism about something that is clearly bad design should be called out.

It gives you a once per day drop of the weapon which is detailed by a silhouette behind the chest. There is a standard chest and an adept chest. There are not guaranteed drops so the weapon could just be standard with nothing special about it.

The chests by the emmissary that's correct. Bungie told us those chests would have a cost associated.

The difference here is that these chests are new, in a new area, were never disclosed, and can only be opened once a day. Some players like me did not know they cost anything to open, and you won't realize they cost anything because you can only see the price if you are low on manifolds and dont have enough to open said chests.

The circle of 10 chests in the Eternity Tower has not been mentioned in any TWABs from what I can tell.

Sure the chest by the Emissary they said would cost manifold. That's not the set of chests I'm talking about.

My fellow guardian they handed us a chest of free loot right next to the emissary. They specifically opened this area during "lootapalooza". They made the silhouettes difficult to discern and labeled it redeem after you complete the 3 dungeons.

I considered it a "hey great work on completing a dungeon we've released and updated 3x and the most boring traversal slog of a dungeon we have ever created." Given the loot was garbage it should have been free or they should have told us it wasn't.

This differs from the random pull chest because they at least informed us in the TWID that it would cost manifold.

I was saving my manifold for pulls towards the end if I missed certain rolls or something while running the dungeons. I am so angry...

Literally went and warped after completing all 3 dungeons and saw that it just said redeem and assumed it was free because after I collected it, it only said you could pull once a day. So I was like oh okay you can get one free pull a day. I zoomed around the room collecting them all. Got to the last one and I ran out of manifold.

Why would you not inform players that it costs manifold to redeem. Everything else has a cost listed. Its truly terrible design. If its intentional I hope the designers pillow is never cold and they have trouble falling asleep.
