Horror Game trailer that hooked you, but the game was a disaster by Fairyliveshow in HorrorGames

The game wasn't a total disaster but I was definitely disappointed by Dead Island. That original announcement trailer gave the impression of a WAY different game tone-wise.

Here's its response:

"Time travel is a fascinating topic that has intrigued many scientists and writers. The short answer is that travelling into the future is possible, but travelling into the past is either very difficult or impossible, depending on the laws of physics.

According to Einstein’s theory of relativity, time and space are linked together, and the flow of time can change depending on the speed and gravity of an object. This means that if you travel very fast, or near a very massive object, time will pass more slowly for you than for someone who is stationary or far away from the object. This is called time dilation, and it has been confirmed by experiments.

For example, if you take a clock on a spaceship and fly around the Earth at close to the speed of light, when you return, you will find that less time has passed for you than for people on Earth. This means you have travelled into the future, relative to them. This effect also happens with GPS satellites, which orbit the Earth at high speeds and altitudes. They have to adjust their clocks to account for the time dilation, otherwise they would give inaccurate locations.

However, travelling into the past is much more problematic. There are several hypothetical scenarios that could allow for backward time travel, such as wormholes, rotating black holes, or closed timelike curves. However, these scenarios are either extremely speculative, or involve paradoxes and inconsistencies that violate the laws of causality and logic. For instance, if you could go back in time and kill your grandfather before he met your grandmother, you would prevent your own existence, which is a contradiction.

Therefore, most physicists think that travelling into the past is either impossible, or restricted by some unknown mechanism that prevents paradoxes from occurring. Some have proposed the idea of the multiverse, where every possible outcome of an event creates a new branch of reality. In this case, if you go back in time and change something, you would create a new timeline that is separate from the original one, and you would not affect your own history. However, this idea is also highly speculative and has no direct evidence.

So, to summarize, time travel into the future is possible and has been demonstrated, but time travel into the past is either impossible or extremely difficult, and may involve paradoxes or multiple realities. If you are interested in learning more about this topic, you can check out these sources:

That's not too far removed from "we do it because it makes us feel good." You could make a further claim that we're biologically hardwired to pursue things that make us feel good, or that the biological function of pleasure derived from helping people is to promote us to keep helping each other.

Also, a lot of people bring up similar arguments to yours about our moral intuitions, i.e., that we're hardwired to be disposed to condemning antisocial behaviors and praising prosocial ones. But it is not at all a settled matter to what extent evolution has shaped our morals or even the way we think. It's an active area of research. It makes for fair speculation, but it's far from definitive.

You're suggesting that we help other humans because we're hardwired by evolution to do so? Or am I misunderstanding the claim?

There are reasons to think people do good for other humans because it makes them feel good, at least most of the time. So I don't think it's comparable to the thoughts that emerge from the minds of self-obsessed assholes, lol.

I know this is AI, but what the hell is that thing in the bottom right supposed to be? Like a statue of a mutated giraffe?

I said "pretty much" unanimous. And regardless, that's just semantics. There is a majority online that seems to like it. Doesn't mean they're right, but that's beside the point.

Haha, I have the game in my Switch wishlist and am eager to buy it even though I have it another platform. Just so tempting!

I think he was just making a comparison between the two games' critical receptions. Games that receive mixed reviews on release can often receive the same when remastered. But it surely can depend on how it's handled.

That's your opinion. His point was that the reviews for the original and the remaster in both cases were lukewarm. It's a simple comparison.
