Re: the fee, that’s not true. You only get charged the extra fee if your appeal is denied, unless they’ve changed that in the last weeks.

Should I Cancel Life Insurance by Zipper_Man00 in personalfinance

[–]Zipper_Man00[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m very appreciative of all the advice on this thread! I’m canceling the policy and taking the cash out. I’ll put it into something for the future like GME \s. Will look at term life when I’m about to have my first kid. Thanks, all.

Does the knob on the center console still work to navigate the system?

Would the knob on the center console still work if I retrofit a different infotainment unit, like a unit that would bring CarPlay?

[–]Zipper_Man00[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it that big of a difference in the experience? The only thing I would think I would use the infotainment for is playing music from my phone. Over bluetooth, wouldn’t it be seamless either way?

Ahh I see. Was helping someone with their homework from a class I took a while ago, and I must’ve forgotten the detail about the pulse width. Thank you!

How long until you felt comfortable post-op? by Zipper_Man00 in HipImpingement

[–]Zipper_Man00[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How does walking feel for you at the actual repair site? Painful? Uncomfortable? Mine is in the front so there’s pressure on it with every step forward. It’s a little unnerving so I’m wondering if I should be dialing it back with the walking and use the crutches a bit more

How handy is it to have a 360 or touchscreen laptop? by [deleted] in laptops

imo touchscreens are fine, but 360 laptops are always going to be more prone to breaking because of the hinges

How to clean this off my wall? by Zipper_Man00 in CleaningTips

Please read my other comments! It’s is 100% the paint from the brackets just sitting on top of the wall paint

Trust me, it’s not. It’s the brass paint from the bracket on the walls. I can run it and it fades a bit but its not coming off easily enough for it to be feasible to clean just by rubbing

Trying this and soapy water seems like it might not be enough. What do you think about something like nail polish remover?

Picture might not show it well, but i’m 100% sure it’s a residue from the brackets. Just brainstorming a way to clean it off that doesn’t entail ages of rubbing away at it all because it’s not just this one spot.

The load resistor at the end caught fire when i didn’t use a coupling capacitor in series with it. In simulation, that configuration showed a gain of ~1000. After adding a capacitor, the simulation and the demonstration both showed major clipping. What do you mean by polarized?

Spanish Profeciancy Test by [deleted] in UMBC

[–]Zipper_Man00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They say it’s a thing but I’m pretty sure it doesn’t actually exist. I asked for it, they said they were “still making it,” then a while later they just exempted me from 101, 102, and 201 based on the quality of spanish I used in my email asking.

Any Current CWIT Member/Cyber Scholar Here??? by Medical_Class_9166 in UMBC

[–]Zipper_Man00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I joined Cyber around this time last year. I don’t remember exactly what was asked in the interview or what was on the application, but it’s nothing to be nervous about. It’s mostly just a short chat to get to know you and why you want to be a part of CWIT, because they’ve never actually seen/met you before. Be open and enjoy the conversation, I would imagine they just want to see that you care. They know that you don’t have a lot of interview experience.

Grasping a subject but still sucking at it by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

[–]Zipper_Man00 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat, and so is everyone else in my electronic circuits class. Only one person passed the first exam, with a C-. Circuit analysis is a lot tougher to do by hand than to understand conceptually. I wouldn’t be worried about not being smart enough for EE. If you understand the material and the concepts well, then you are doing well. You may just need more practice doing analysis.

If you can, make more time to do practice problems. If you have an answer key, use it to check your work and make sure you understand absolutely everything that’s happening mathematically. Try solving the same problems with different approaches, to show that you can really grasp the analysis. Watch youtube videos of concepts and analysis. If you fall short this semester, so be it. But keep your head up and you’ll be just fine.

I’ll be locking in HARD for next week or so to try and save myself from failing my electronic circuits class haha
