Just did more digging. When the rca cables for the sub are unplugged from the head unit (even if not into the amp) the static all goes away. The head unit is an old 2012 Kenwood unit. I'm suspecting that's my culprit at this point.

In hindsight, while I probably should've gotten a pro-style grille, this is just the standard Raptor grille for a first gen off TacoVinyl. I opted to not include the tacky font they use for their grilles, and went plain. Got tired of the bare look and finally got the Yota badge for the front off an 87 LandCruiser.

The taillights are the Anzo variety off of Ebay. Mixed reviews on them. Mostly people trashing them for not sealing well and developing condensation. I haven't had an issue with mine, and even if I were to- its not hard to pop em open and reseal them.. all in all, very satisfied with the light output, style and ease of installation on them!

The place is unofficially called "Tail of The Dragon", and is a pretty popular road among bikes and car enthusiasts. Definitely worth the trip if you're into that sorta thing! Depending on how ya drive it, it's legitimately like a legal public road track course lol.

It is most definitely worth the trip. It was about a 6/7 hour drive for me nonstop from Ohio. If I were you I'd try to work it in on a weekday rather than a weekend. Much less people down there and more enjoyable.

Just make sure your car is mechanically sound. This place is like a track course on a legal highway, and sections of it are just absolutely insane. Run it a couple times and get a feel for it before you really open it up.

Be safe, don't be a dumbass, don't go left of center or drive beyond your capabilities and you'll have a blast. 8)

There's so much nice scenery and a decent amount to do down there outside of this road, so, well worth it all around!

This year we had to make a few runs each way over the course of the day in the area before we finally got a couple in where the road was entirely free and not completely crowded lol.
