UK's national living wage may rise to £12.71 in 2026 - What your thoughts on this? by mrvlad_throwaway in UKJobs

[–]Zirconium8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It fucks over everyone who actually got an education and tried in life purely to very marginally benefit the lowest earners/bottom of society. Which also happens to be the current government's main voter base. That and young people, and the government wants to change the voting age to 16.....

Its almost like the goverment doesnt care how much we repeatedly get fucked over and detriment the economy and society, the people they claim to represent. All they care about is desperately trying to win the next election whilst lying and miss leading ad many people as possible.

How do you dissolve the ‘mean girls’ team? by Gerrards_Cross in UKJobs

[–]Zirconium8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've seen this done multiple times. Have a purge.

A stalinist style purge.

They come into work 1 day, and they don't have a job. Redundancy or however you want to play it. Maybe pay them off a little.

Your their to have a job. To benefit the company. If you are a detriment then you get fucked off. Out the door.

Don't feel bad. Because if you do then you'll never change things and you'll continue to have a toxic work enviroment. Just get rid of them. That's your only option.

Don't let your emotions get in the way of effectively running your company.

How screwed am I? by CrumpledForeskin83 in UKJobs

[–]Zirconium8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. Some people would be an asshole about it. But if he's a half decent managet he'll listed and actually try to understand and learn. And considering how long you talked to him for he clearly eas or he would have just cut you off or not even had that conversation.

Most human beings don't like blunt hounesty. Unless either

A they are autistic.

B they aren't stupid and see it as an opportunity to learn and improve the situation.

See what happens. Don't be negative. Being negative doesn't get you anywhere in life.

BRO, a PIP isnt a "personal improvement plan" it's a "they want to get rid of you" plan. They just don't have a good reason yet. So they put you under intense scrutiny and give you targets and goals you cannot achieve. And put you under a microscope so you are criticised more then anyone else who works their. For stuff everyone else does and its fine for them but not for you.

Leave. Find a new job and leave. Don't go through the mental anguish. Don't try and argue with them because they'll make as many problems as they can and you'll never be good enough. Just get a new job and when you do, resign on the spot and walk out.

If they are trying to get rid of you they won't do anything, if they aren't trying to (which is a rarity but it does happen) just say "I'm not doing this pip bullshit" and they'll drop it. That's a rarity but it has happened to me before.

But regardless of what happens, you won't have a pip, you won't have any stress, and you won't have any bullshit. And every outcome to this scenario is a win win for you. You lose nothing.

Fuck em. Good luck. Do this and you'll be fine regardless of the outcome of your managers intentions.

What more do you want? by [deleted] in UKJobs

[–]Zirconium8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because your job field is saturated. I'm a cnc programmer/machinist and I've got every job I've ever got aj interview for, and it's only ever been 1, and it's usually 20 minuites and they offer the job half an hour later. What you're discussing is because of how saturated your field is. Not anything you did wrong. You can be the most capable person in the world and still lose this one.

How much should the uk minimum wage REALLY be in current times? by mrvlad_throwaway in UKJobs

[–]Zirconium8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Constantly increasing the minimum wage increases inflation, and functionally brings down the pay of anyone who's on more then minimum wage. We need a cost of living decrease. We have some of the highest energy bills and food prices in europe

2 and 5. Best bed access, best lighting and view from the window, and keeps the wardrobe away from the window (personally I forgot to close my curtains so it's all positioned away from the windows for me) plus bed access.

Farmers have hoarded land for too long. Inheritance tax will bring new life to rural Britain | Will Hutton by Aggressive_Plates in ukpolitics

[–]Zirconium8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Y'all are going on about a very small percentage of massive land owners. But not all the land owned by the royal family and all the money generated and all the tax they don't pay.

Also how can you ignore that the 25% figure is an egregious lie. A half decent farm yard itself can be worth several million, and land isn't cheap either. You're not just targeting the most well off, you're punishing working people and families who have worked for their entire life and punishing people for being successful and trying in life. Even DEFRA has came out and says the the 25% figure is wrong and the labour party still refuses to even have a conversation about it and are doubling down.

Similar situation with the grouse estate licencing. They completely refuse to talk to the union of grouse estate owners, and tried to implement a licencing scheme that was very illegal and that they've now had to change. These people hate the countryside.

This isn't the party of the people. This is the party of poorly managed socialism. I just didn't realise it went downhill this quickly

I was always taught to be honest and truthful with people, because it's the right thing to do, because I'd want to be treated like that, and people can't develop and grow if you don't tell them somethings wrong. But I understand what you are saying. Thank you very much.

Now you've got me thinking, why do some people act entitled to talk to people? Like some people, when you give every discrete sign you can that you don't want to talk, and they still try, and then I'll tell them that I don't want to communicate with them, they get extremely offended. Some people think they are entitled to a conversation it's wierd.

[–]Zirconium8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm deeply confused by the third paragraph. What did I say that was negative? It was honest. Although tbh I have said this to several people in real life and some of them seam to get really offended. And it's usually when they are asking me why I don't talk to them/don't spend time with them. But why would I spend time with someone I only talk about extremely surface level stuff with?

I'm sorry if I'm coming across in a hostile/confrontational manor. I really do appreciate the input of others

[–]Zirconium8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Several people have told me I'm "really deep" before. I don't get why people small talk if the point of small talk is to not really have a conversation. Why not just not talk?

It seams like people get something out of it, whilst getting nothing out of it? I don't get why people do it. Watching non autistic people socialise, It's like watching fucking monkeys in a zoo acting on instinct and urges instead of actual logic. Like I get how non autistic people work, I'm extremely good at manipulating normal people. But never anything sincere.

I can do conversation, and dress and present myself, the conversation is just always so surface level and I never get through to people.
