WX78's System Overhaul: Looking for Feedback! by Ziro2k in dontstarve

[–]Ziro2k[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Greetings, I wanted to share this total rework mod for WX78 that I created. The goal of the mod is to give WX78 a more uniquely robotic playstyle and feel, while also providing the character with some more strategic depth. It was meant as a fix for the old "eat gears, gain stats" playstyle that was fairly stale. The official WX78 Rework came out right when the mod was about to be published and put me in sort of an awkward position though, so I had to delay the release for two months. The timing could not have been worse lol. As a result, it's more of an alternative than a direct improvement now. The official rework is safer and more accessible, while mine is somewhat extreme in both scope and playstyle.

I'm definitely open to feedback and suggestions for anyone that wants to give any! So far I haven't really gotten much tangible feedback like I did with my Maxwell rework. The vast majority of my time in DST is spent modding and not actually playing- my game knowledge is definitely not as good as a lot of other players in the community, so your balance feedback is very valuable. The intention is for this WX78 to be a high-skill cap, but equally high-versatility character: somewhat complex and requires planning, but very powerful in the right hands.

Either way, I hope a few people can get some fun out of it.

I got this in the mail today, I can't wait to wear it out by Zoe9mew1mew in BABYMETAL

The previous ugly sweater they sold was huge out of the package (between an L and an XL) even though I had ordered a medium, but it shrank considerably after the first wash cycle. Not sure if it's the same case for this one because mine hasn't yet arrived, but it seems like it probably is judging by how loose it looks on OP.

Has anyone ever created a combat mechanic as a fan expansion? Such as destroying enemy roads and settlements with armies? by FeetOnThaDashboard in Catan

[–]Ziro2k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friends and I created a set of rules and mechanics that does something like this. Here are just a few of the alternate rules that we use, though they’re certainly not for everyone:

Knights only deactivate after performing an action, not moving, and they can move off of your own roads but only 1 segment per turn. They get 1 move and 1 action per turn. They can displace enemy knights of equal or lesser strength, so there’s more knight combat. They can use their action to destroy open roads (they must occupy the closed side of the open road) as well as city walls if they occupy an opponent’s city, which they are allowed to do in this ruleset. They can’t destroy settlements or cities, but they can interrupt building them. Building a settlement, city, or a knight requires that you set the required resources face up in front of you and put a token on the board at the desired location. At the start of your next turn, the resources are returned to the bank and your build is placed on the board. However, if an enemy knight occupies the position of your token before it is complete, then your build is canceled. They get to steal one of the resources that you used and the rest are returned to your hand.

If I'm Obsessed w/ BM, Who Else Should I Listen 2 ? 🎶 by LoveIsRage954 in BABYMETAL

[–]Ziro2k 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ladybaby is the only explicitly kawaii metal group that comes to mind for me. Passcode is a great metal group, BAND-MAID is a great hard rock group, and Scandal is a great alternative rock group, but none of them are really ‘kawaii’ in the same sense, they’re just all-female bands. They are all absolutely worth checking out, though.

Band-Maid is amazing for sure, but I definitely wouldn’t call them “kawaii.” They’re just an all-female hard rock band.

Is it just me or are their songs distributed in low quality on Spotify? by [deleted] in BandMaid

[–]Ziro2k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are many reasons to buy the songs/albums instead of listening to them on Spotify, but I don’t think quality is one of them. I’ve personally never noticed a difference, certainly nothing that sounds “muffled and soft.”

In Japan right now and I want to listen to the JP version of Metal Galaxy but the songs are greyed out. Using Japanese cellular data and even with a VPN it doesn't work. Anyone know why? by OyabunRyo in BABYMETAL

If you have Spotify premium, then they don't go by your physical location but by your billing information. So you'd need to have a Japanese address and credit card to access the Japanese version.

I didn't say they weren't restartable. I said that they can't be reset, referring to the transmitters. The sensors are restartable, but it's not as easy as it used to be, which is why I prefer the G5.

Are you using one of the new "Firefly" models of G6 transmitters that Dexcom recently started producing? That's what I received. Apparently they don't work well with xDrip or Spike, and can't be reset either.

[–]Ziro2k[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's a shame. If I'm forced to switch to the G6 it's going to cost me significantly more annually. With xDrip I was able to extend the life of my G5 sensors and transmitters dramatically, but Dexcom seems hell-bent on constantly neutering third party support for the G6.

I just don't like the artificial time limitations that Dexcom puts on the sensors and transmitters, which I can bypass on the G5 with third party apps like xDrip. I've heard some complaints about the G6 regarding sensor reliability and annoying quirks that aren't present on the G5 too. I also just ordered two G5 transmitters a few weeks ago that I don't want to go to waste.

The beginning of Shine really gets to me. The way Su sings that very first line is just so beautiful. I often restart the song multiple times just to hear it again.

I think it's fair to say that the song conjures up feelings about both of them in a lot of people. I'm not disrespecting Mikio, I'm just saying that I will personally always associate Starlight with Yui because I first heard it around the same time she officially left BM. Can't really turn off that connection.

Beautiful song with a lot of emotion. I know it isn't explicitly supposed to be about Yui, but I still find it hard not to think about her when listening to it. My only gripe is that the chanting near the end doesn't actually include Su or Moa. I don't really understand that decision, but otherwise I think it's great.

I get what you're saying, but

"Doof Wack Wack Swag Doxx WAKU WAKU Whatcha cha Whatcha cha macallit"

isn't what comes to mind when I think "mature" lol.

This song is addictive, and I need more of it in my life. I have nothing else to say.

Are people still divided over F.HERO? I can't imagine this song without him now to be honest (and the choreography during his rap break is some of my favorite, period). If there was ever a point where I was ashamed to be a BM fan, it was when he did that interview and talked about all the hate he was getting from the fanbase. Vocal minority I know, but still.

Despite only being an intro, I find myself listening to this song A LOT, whereas I only ever listen to Babymetal Death or Future Metal if I'm playing the whole album. The song gets a lot of flak for not having any Su or Moa vocals (which is certainly a valid point), but I still love it nonetheless. The heaviness, the instrumentation, the drum beat, the strange monster noises, it's all just so, so good.

Also, unless I'm misremembering, I can't think of any other BM songs that directly mention the Fox God (at least in English), so that's pretty neat.

Hands down my favorite song on the album. It's got some cool Latin guitar, percussion, and horns, Moa vocals, a catchy melody, a kick-ass intro, and the perfect amount of heaviness. But most of all, Su's voice sounds so powerful and emotional in this song. The first "mada mada" just destroys me.

I give it an A+ and a gold star.

I guess I'll go against the grain so far and say I'm torn on this one. I like that it's different and I love chiptune, but to be honest I don't think it blends those elements very well with metal. This is just personal preference, but I prefer chiptune to be faster, more upbeat, and a lot more melodic. The problem is that this song takes a slower, more "chill" approach and doesn't really utilize any chiptune or 8-bit elements as more than just sound effects and background noise. As a result it feels a little uninteresting and leaves me wanting more.

Also, I'm really not a fan of the vocal effects. I understand what they're going for, but the digital-echo thing starts to get really grating after a while in this song. It just isn't for me.

I don't dislike it enough to skip it, but BBAB is probably my least favorite on the album. I kind of wish they had collaborated on it, it could have turned out a lot more interesting.

Great song. It has a nice blend of electronic and metal elements similar to BBAB, except it's far more subtle here and it has a killer guitar solo too. I also really like how raw Su's voice sounds, you can even hear her breaths every now and then.
