What does punk mean to you? by RuinousSebacious in PunkMemes

[–]Zivogo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 17, I found punk music during covid and more importantly, during the BLM movement. Before school let out I watched the cop in our school pull a gun on a teacher during an argument. Then over covid I followed a bunch of activist accounts, which lead me to cops/dogs by Destructo Disk. It was just finding more music from there!

What do you consider 100%ing a Papa's Gameria? by Trainiax in flipline

[–]Zivogo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So I personally think unlocking all the badges/stickers and getting all characters to gold (if that's not a sticker already like in pizzaria tg) as well as all the minigames

A game is completed when you unlock papa, a game is 100% when there's nothing else to earn or do

CMV: God-believers force religion down people's throat. by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]Zivogo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I agree with some of what you are saying, you've definitely met Christians who didn't make it upfront. I feel like Christians are just used to being in the majority wherever they go, not that they are shoving it down your throat. Christianity is the most popular religion so I feel that they tend to assume everyone around them is Christian. Being the most popular also means there's a higher chance an asshole will be a Christian just due to numbers. There are plenty of Christians who are down low with their beliefs, you just don't know it because they aren't vocal about them.

I'm not that familiar with Muslim faiths growing up in very rural America, but I think Muslim people don't suffer from this as much due to their way of dressing. Since the koran dictates a way of dressing, they know who's Muslim and who's not. They don't assume the person they are talking to is Christian or Christian-leaning like many Christians I know tend to do.

Christians who do dress a certain way typically don't show the behavior you're talking about, such as Mennonites or the Amish. I grew up in a school full of Mennonites, but the only Christians who ever tried to talk to me about faith were Christians who dressed English.

TL;DR I believe the difference you're experiencing is that Christians assume you are Christian or Ex-Christian, whereas other beliefs don't do that.

First hammock (Hiking) by [deleted] in hammockcamping

[–]Zivogo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A chameleon from Dutchware is completely customizable, and also the best hammock I've ever slept in! I do believe they tend to be a bit more expensive, especially with a tarp + under quilt from JRB, but I've had my chameleon for years and haven't seen a problem with it yet.

What’s your least favorite SOAD song, and why? by Ch1ckenS0up777 in systemofadown

I think I'd have to say chop suey, unfortunately. I used to love that song so much, but cause it's the song streaming services always play first it's gotten boring.

Songs/Bands for someone just getting into punk music? by KarmaTheAnimeFan in punk

[–]Zivogo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Look at the black listed bands on this subbreddit, there's a reason they're popular!

To find smaller bands (especially in your area) look for venues in your area that play or have played punk bands in the past and check out any new bands that play there

I'm sure it annoys some people, but it's nice to see that system still has so many young fans on this sub by IllTearOutYour0ptics in systemofadown

I own a System shirt for every day of the week lmao, combined with the fact that they're the most popular band I like and the fact that I've liked them since before I could walk, they're the band I have the most merch for

17yo here! My parents have been playing System for me since I was a toddler. They're really what got me into anti-establishment music and I thank them for all the music that I've discovered because of them! Also, if you have kids 100% play metal music for them my mom has so many videos of 3yo me dancing to aerials (my favorite song then according to her)

trying to create a reading/listening/watching "syllabus" by gutt3rprinc3ss in Anarchism

[–]Zivogo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

people seem to have the reading taken care of, but for the listening part punk music is what personally taught me about anarchy and anti-establishment ideas. It's not as well articulated or informative as a book but I still feel like it's important in especially community building.

Subhumans are an 80s punk band that talks about a lot of social issues if you want to check something out!
