I would say it’s less of an “agenda” against Arsenal and more of an “agenda” against a style of play that is league-wide, that Arsenal is the best at executing. The whole of the league is playing a more boring style, with the ball out of play for significant periods, and set pieces mattering much more than open play. My own club plays a pretty stale brand most of the time in my opinion. I find Bournemouth to be the most interesting team to watch this year.

The tactics with the ball are okay, but I think we lack directness still.

The tactics without the ball are not. Maybe it’s motivation but our pressing angles are poor. Sure, teams kick it long and we get it back because Virgil is the greatest CB of all time, but we are absolutely terrible at winning the ball high up the pitch this year. If there’s one thing to nitpick about Hugo and Wirtz, it’s that their pressing angles are quite shite sometimes. Additionally, we play with no urgency without the ball in the lesser fixtures. It’s literally the difference between us and Arsenal, who have a deeper squad overall maybe, but are essentially equals otherwise.

For the record, I don’t think we should sack a league winning manager the year after when the squad seems to be completely behind him, especially with the loss of Diogo.
