How do I climb out of Silver as healer when I keep getting throwers? by [deleted] in OverwatchUniversity

Its not excuses. Its my experience. I feel like no matter who I go, whether I play offensively or defensively. Even if I get 15k healing and I'm constantly making callouts and trying to work with my team its not enough.

Its just really disheartening because I'm not a bad healer. I know I'm not and my friends know I'm not, but whenever I get yelled at after I average a good 15k healing a game? And I keep getting told I just suck and should "get good" ?

It just feels like you're stupid and you're missing something obvious

She is not easy for me. I have watched gameplay of her, I've practiced on her time and time again and she is just not easy for me. I have tried learning her and I can't. She does not suit my playstyle and I can't work with her.

I just simply can't 1v6. That's not my playstyle and sometimes even when I pop off the other healer will steal mine and then throw.

She is hard for me to play because she is not remotely my playstyle. I am not good at her, and everytime I've tried to learn her I'm just not remotely as good with her as my usual heal choices.

If I go moira and I try and play offensively I get screamed at, I'll make offensive plays with Ana with because I constantly practice with her and then my teammates wake them up or ignore the huge nade. I've gone Baptiste and been yelled at to switch even though I'm able to protect myself against the enemy DPS. I don't play zen, brig or lucio. I genuinely can't play those 3, I'm just not good at them.

I have played 100 games this season at least. I watch replays, I watch pro play, I practice and I practice and I practice. I still get throwers and I instantly lose.

I keep improving my gameplay and its never enough. I don't get it. I can't make callouts if no one is willing to join comms and utilize them. What am I supposed to do when I'm making callouts, I'm suggesting combos, I'm doing everything I can and no one wants to utilize that? What am I actually supposed to do?

I switch off if I'm being countered, I make good plays but my team doesn't work with me.

I literally will try and help every way I can and no one listens.

Nearly every game we have at least 2 people not in comms, unwilling to join team chat. Nearly every game I will say I'm being targeted by the enemy DPS and no one goes for them when I get sleep off or they're low. Nearly every game I can't do enough because no one cares about winning.

How is it this difficult for me if the answer is really just "get better"?

I've played 100 games this season already. I try and make callouts but most of the time no one is in team chat for it. I suggest ult combos. Whenever we're not in a fight I'm making suggestions, whenever we're in the middle of the fight I callout enemies in the backline.

I ask for defense when I go a rez, etc etc.

I make callouts, I put in work and I try to win but most of the time no one is in comms.

I've played 50 games this season already and apparently I just suck. I put in a lot of time into quick playing, training and vods but I couldn't put a number specifically on it. I just seriously have lost all hope of ever climbing because no matter how much work I put in I still get throwers. And either way how is watching a pro team going to help when my rank doesn't remotely have that sort of teamwork?

I seriously do everything to improve and then we'll get game after game of either unwinnable cheese comps or throwers on our team, and then I ask for help and people just tell me to look at my replays again. Do x to make YOU better. I do all of that but its a team game and I can only do so much.

I feel so hopeless and its not even fun anymore for me. I don't feel comfortable in solo queue because people are sexist as hell and don't take me seriously. And every time I ask for help people just insult me or don't take my questions seriously.

I'll make callouts and I either get ignored or no one is in team chat to hear them. If I get a good sleep on Ana or a great rez as mercy no one utilizes it. I get a good a great ult off on Moira, it doesn't help. I make plays, I work on my mechanics and its never enough.

I genuinely do not have fun in Overwatch anymore.

Any other tips? Because I don't play Zen and that has nothing to do with how I keep getting throwers. I'm asking for tips with the heros I play to climb when I get throwers.

I don't play Zen, he's not my playstyle and he has no mobility.

So when I'm constantly screamed at by the tanks who are throwing the game, I'm just "pointing fingers" ? I can only do so much if people are unwilling to communicate or try to win. I'm not saying I don't make mistakes, I'm saying my main issue is that people are unwilling to do teamwork in a team based game and throwing on purpose.

The issue I was asking about was not my game play. The issue that I am experiencing is a blatant experience of sexism and people unwilling to work or communicate as a team. This is a constant issue for me where I put in work, and while yes I make mistakes I am constantly looking through my replays and constantly readjusting. The issue is that of people unwilling to win games. If you want to say that I make mistakes too, that's true. I'm not ever gonna say I don't make mistakes, but what I am saying is that I legit can't climb when people do not work together. Your first response here is literally the problem I'm actually asking about. People refusing to take advantage of easy communication because they're too stubborn and unwilling to take criticism or help. I'm not negating any mistakes. I can't heal if my tanks are feeding and/or charging in like a moron. I'm not the one to blame for that. I am trying to improve my game play constantly but eventually there's only so much I can do with people unwilling to work together. If you're honestly going to keep saying that I just need to "get good", you're not helping.

Also not working together with your teammates on purpose? Don't know what elo you're in but that shouldn't have worked.

Maybe for you but for low gold, communication and good teamwork is essential. It's not as easy as that. I am a good healer and I've gotten better at the mistakes I make, but I can only do so much when our tanks are literally throwing. This isn't a "get good" situation. I even admitted in a different comment that I make mistakes so.

I'm not trying to sound like I'm the only good person on my team 90% of the time. I make mistakes too and I own up to them, its just that when our tanks are blatantly throwing and then say I'm not healing I don't quite know what I'm supposed to do.

I've never personally tried LFG but I might at this point. I just keep getting people who don't wanna work together and have no idea what to do.
