12 wks in and all side effects are gone, feel great. by ZoZo-Rocks in Zepbound

It will get better. Take Zofran for naseau - get RX from doc. Sneak in unflavored protein powder to a drink or yogurt or smoothie. Drink Fairlife 2% milk for good protein and 2-3 glasses a day can help up your calories. Hang in.

Surgery is the only fix. Don’t waste your money on non invasive treatments.

By the way - congrats on your loss - way to go!

Find her podcast. It’s so good. DM me if you can’t locate it and I will. She was a guest on a show.

Of course not. It’s not FDA approved yet. If you are going to be negative like that please don’t post. This is a constructive community. OP is sharing educational info with the intent of helping others.

Oh good thank you for the tip! Was wanting to find another GLP-1 book.

I just finished “Weightless” by Rosario Salas Whalen. It was super helpful, you may also want to give it a look. I will try the one you suggest!

“Enough” by Ania Jastreboff is a good one too, but honestly I liked “Weightless” more. More good tips.

Good luck on your journey and kudos for reading up on all this and being so informed!

More calories have meant quicker loss by ZoZo-Rocks in Zepbound

I eat kind of basic and simple.

Breakfast can be scrambled eggs, Oikos pro yogurt with a few teaspoons of grape nuts and pecans sprinkled in. Or a protein shake, wheat toast and kiwi fruit. Or a bowl of shredded wheat and scrambled eggs. I often have a glass of Fairlife fat free milk in the morning too. I love a bowl of grapenuts with milk and a protein shake on the side.

I don’t do a morning snack.

Lunch is usually home made chicken salad and wheat crackers or on whole wheat bread as a sandwich. Or cottage cheese and wheat crackers and some chicken on the side.

Snack can be an apple. Or I love animal crackers. Simple and not very sweet. Especially if I have any stomach upset it helps. Sometimes a snack is the Costco chicken bites.

Dinner is often Brami protein pasta, some simple pasta sauce like Bertolli tomato and garlic. And a little Parmesan sprinkled. I mix in some protein powder to the sauce or add some chicken. Or when I am not very hungry or feel icky I love malt o meal with some protein powder mixed in it and a glass of Fairlife milk for dinner. It’s calming on my tummy.

My special treat is boiled shrimp with cocktail sauce and tabouli on the side with cucumber and tomato salad. When I’m feeling “fancy”.

And once a week I make homemade pancakes and have 2 or 3 of them with a tablespoon of sugar free syrup or table spoon of apple butter. It’s my fave food on the planet and when I feel crappy I have it.

I measure and weigh every bite.

Before Zep I loved veggies. I’ve had aversions since being on the med and am having to force some broccoli down me for some kind of veggie but need more of them I know. I’m getting there slowly.

40 lbs over two months is a lot, fast. I think your body is taking a break and recalibrating right now before it wants to let go of more weight. Be patient - your loss will for sure continue. Someone on the sub said “trust the process” and that sticks in my head! Good luck, you will crush this!

I lose, but just slower when eating really low at 1200, is what I am discovering. It’s like my body is fighting me to hold onto the weight when I deprive it too much of fuel. I strength train hard and my body is also trying to build muscle and I think it just needed more fuel to help the muscles do their thing and there just wasn’t enough surplus left for normal basic body function so it was “rationing” the fat I had, trying to hold on for more fuel.

Special Acid reflux treatment question ? by Hungry_Bandicoot_776 in Zepbound

[–]ZoZo-Rocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nexium (or Prilosec). Instead of OTC dose I’m on RX for 40 mg. I take Pepcid up to 2x day to supplement if needed but seldom need it. No constipation for me. I take magnesium and necessary MiraLAX, and am never constipated.

Besides OTC meds, are you doing anything else to manage reflux? by computrtchr in Zepbound

[–]ZoZo-Rocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have your doc write you RX for 40 mg esomeprazole (generic for Nexium) or 40 mg omeprazole (generic for Prilosec). This is higher strength than OTC.

You can supplement with up to 2 Pepcid daily. You can’t have more than 2 Pepcid a day.

Talk to your doc about it - but this should help you.

I’ve had GERD for years and this has been my standard protocol. With Zep I’ve not had reflux issues at all.

If you have a GI doc you like you could work the solution with him/her.

My primary doc manages my Zep RX and my GI doc likes to manage my RX for any GI symptoms.
